Black Ops 3 is actually pretty good, spent about 5 hours with it today and enjoyed my time, I'm definetley hyped for mods to release. Regardless of the leaks we still haven't played the game yet, could actually be fun to play with a good story or it really is mediocre.

Since CoD 1 the formula has been A) Start mission B) Kill people C) Finish mission. Blackops 2 changed that with customizable loadouts, unlockable weapons, and objectives and choices that if completed would change the story and ultimately how you played. In particular, the variety of levels and past/future missions were refreshing, in a genre that seems to tread over the same battlefields over and over. The system was really smooth and fun. Multiplayer has been consistently tight, and although zombies has been hit or miss it is still really fun to play with friends. The perk system, gun play, and unlockable progression works well. The games are extremely polished and virtually bug free on launch, and barring a few balancing patches we can expect the game to change very little. Also, the devs have shown to be receptive to their existing fanbase and willing to listen.
Now we get to Fallout. Bethesda has consistently shown themselves to be incompetent developers, who release broken games that are often lazy reskins of previous ones. What do I mean by this? Blatantly reusing animations, assets, and designs from previous games, and not even bothering to make them look good. The game WILL be a hot mess that has several gamebreaking bugs, constant crashes, and overall very little done in the way of quality control. The major changes made so far look terrible - the dialogue wheel takes a hacksaw to meaningful choices (conversations are distilled to vague positive and negative reactions or made into hamfisted options with zero subtlety), the voiced protag destroys the RPG element and cuts down replayability, and the skill, perk, and SPECIAL system have been cut down and combined into one system, with seemingly no level cap. I can't say how this will work in practice, but in theory it sounds bad. Animation and graphics wise it looks dated - again, this is a result of Bethesda cutting corners on everything they do. I say this as a Fallout fan.
