Doubt they'd bother editing them, maybe some colour correction. But they've definitely forced some serious anti-aliasing, everything else still looks like dogshit though so they're probably legit.

The thing that throws me off is that if they were using heavy AA then the texture on the armor would be blurred. Also, the gun he's holding is super blurry compared to everything else. The player's leg right next to the gun doesn't look blurry at all.
It just doesn't look like right imo.
All the screens that /v/ has been circlejerking about have been cherry picking and blowing up the terrible textures . Bethesda cherry picked the best scenes and made them look good. It's not too hard to understand.

From what I've seen from streams and screenshots, the game is really inconsistent as fuck. There are some things that actually look pretty good, but others that look awful.

Nothing in it looks sharp or high quality, but it looks fine. The reasons to not touch the game are not the graphics. It's a wasteland, it doesn't excuse it, but it was never going to look nice.

You mean lighting, by the way, not shadowing. And ambient occlusion is close to pointless in compressed footage, you really can't see the difference.
