I bought a razer headset because I live in bumfuck nowhere and the headset I wanted (my old one but not broken) was out of stock (which here means never going to be in stock again).
Overall the price wasn't insane but too steep for what it offers. You don't have your audio feed going back to your headphones (what is technical term for that?) and that + closed system cans is really weird. The earmuffs are too small so I get listening fatigue very quickly. The sound quality isn't great. My $50 sennhaisers I got with my bass guitar sound worlds better.
The pros are that the mic is retractable which is really nice and the headband itself is extremely comfortable. Also they look alright (no giant RAZER shit plastered all over, just the logo on the cans and the green/black colours aren't all that awful). Cord is very long. Only plugs into audio hookup so no fucking around trying to get everything to work (nice but its only an issue once so doesn't matter as much).
Prob going to replace them with an open system logitech set I tried at buddy's place though. Only headset I've worn that actually fits over ears rather than on them which will greatly extend time before getting listening fatigue.

The "legendary" amazing deathadder frequently talked about is the Deathadder 3.5g also known as deathadder black, deathadder respawn and deathadder DA2 edition. The ones that were released after that has a different sensor with forced smoothing built in.
What does smoothing do? Using inflated DPI numbers causes a glitch that makes the location jump around. The mouse calculates out a "stable" line by using average values of samples to remove the "jumping" the calculations however takes time, which in practice adds slight delay to mouse reacting to actual movements.
