Nordic games sale on Steam

You like difficult RPGs? Play some Gothic 2: Gold Edition.

Somebody in a different thread mentioned Gothic. They likened it to Thief. Is it like Thief?

Huh. Now that you mention it the combat IS a lot like thief's. The bow has a %chance to miss based on your skills though, but the melee combat is very similar.

Setting is completely different though. Instead of being a selfish prick who steals everything and gets wealthy, you're a selfish prick who kills 6 dragons and saves the world.

The fun comes when you STOP dying over and over, and realise that you have become gud.
You would know that, if you had reached the point.
Yes, the dying over and over sucks. But you overcome it quickly, and then you get to enjoy how much you've improved as a player.

wow this place has gone to shit. keep the 100 fallout threads up tho ;)

My experience with the Gothic games on steam are that they don't fucking work even after fiddiling with them for hours.

Didn't go to archive? /v/ is fast.

But yes, I like fallout. A shame there weren't any games in the series after Fallout II though, I feel that series had lots of potential.

Your thread could have potentially bumped an Undertale thread off the catalog. We can't have that, it'll trigger all the Tumblr babies.

If you enjoyed Undertale, you should play Cargo: The Quest For Gravity.
It's ... actually completely nothing like Undertale at all.
But you probably won't notice, and enjoy it anyway.
Bonus points: The game isn't popular on tumblr, so you don't have to shitpost about it and hate it!

Actually, there's Fallout 3: New Vegas. It takes place in a similar setting and has many references to the first two.
>>
>>315607032
You mean The Elder Scrolls IV: New Vegas.

Good writing, but a horrible empty world, a slow walk speed, gameplay that is quite literally press V to win, and an engine that crashes all the time.
[Please don't mention Gothic 3]

That is its reputation though, Gothic I and Gothic II, especially with Night of the Raven added in, are considered quite hard by most people I've talked to. I can't say I really agree, but the amount of people that get stone walled by Gothic II is sort of interested, and also quite distressing at the same time.

Personally, I enjoyed them, but maybe I enjoy them and don't see the things as difficult so much as fun, I don't know. But the people I've come across that can't manage Gothic II are very, very real.

I was thinking of picking up the spellforce games. More out of curiosity than anything. Anyone got some hands on experience?
>>
>>315610674
They're pretty good, the first game has better variety in races and spells, second game narrows it down but polishes a bit. It's sort of like WC3 if heros were as developed as in actual RPG games, there was gorilion races and units but overall rougher around the edges.
