We could try designated shitposting generals sanctioned by mods. People who come here only wanting console wars can have a console wars thread, or a consoles vs PC thread etc, as many as needed for the major meta shit, all day long.
Argumentative autists would tire themselves out faster in such threads and also attract the people who are easily triggered by these topics to enter those threads (instead of random ones all over /v/) and bicker with them. Maybe they'll all get strokes from autistic rage and we'd be rid of them finally.

1. Blatant shitposting. Entering an on-topic thread and shitting in it to derail it and incite arguments. Don't like a particular game? Don't be a manchild, ignore it/hide it and move on.

Some of the off topic threads or threads that were lightly about vidya were she of the best threads on /v/. Nobody posts stories threads, glitch stories, or things like that because the mods even ban that.
Ocean threads, space threads, vidya ideas threads, mineral thread, fucking Ito threads, punisher dumps, that kid or threads like that. All gone.
Threads about vidya which devolve into off topic posting that ends up far better than the thread are pretty based as well. If it's not just shitposting, there's no reason to be a complete autist.
And if you can delete everything fun within a few minutes, there is absolutely no fucking excuse that clear bait, console wars, and blatant shitposting is able to stay up for more than a few posts.

The issue with mods is that they're completely random on what they delete and what they ban. Sometimes they delete and ban posts/people for shitposting a certain company, sometimes they don't. Sometimes they'll delete threads actually related to games and discussing them, and leave something not really vidya up. Sometimes they'll delete threads that are just image posting, even if they're vidya related.
The mods probably don't really know what should and shouldn't be allowed and are very fucking random about it.

I think the biggest issue is the mods. It's like they don't even know what's allowed. The rules say vidya culture is allowed, but mods still delete those kinds of threads, while threads that cause flamewars and shitposting stay up.
