If my several anecdotal experiences overhearing a few recent conversations in a fucking Gamestop are any indication, the "normies" who play on consoles don't like the future setting and most especially hate the jumping and other movement mechanics.
They didn't like the double jump Boosting and Air Dashing in AW. The advanced mobility went way over their heads.
They sure as hell won't be fond of the Blops3's omnidirectional sliding, staggered Thrust Jumps and wall runs.
They seriously want it to go back to Modern Warfare era so they don't have to worry about pressing several buttons that they haven't needed to make use of frequently ever before. The series is killing itself by changing so much that it has become not-COD.
Everybody is going science fantasy with their games and those 20-30 million COD players who bought the WW2/Modern military game every year are being put off by it.

Having played the MP beta for Blops3 for a couple hours to humor myself, it felt pretty shitty. I greatly preferred the feel of movement in AW (when I tried that in a free weekend), however both of them were not very good in terms of "feeling right".
Treyarch does that thing again where sighting up drastically alters sensitivity per weapon (so LMGs turn slower compared to SMGs and whatnot). It really fucks with my sense of distance for moving the mouse when I switch between hip and sights. I relegated myself to some shitty SMGs and ARs that had hideous accuracy. Seriously, most of the weapons in the game have WAY too much recoil, especially now that players are sliding/jumping around at brisk speeds.
Wall running is extremely scarce since only a fraction of the environment can be run on, it seems almost pointless to perform, and they only added it in because Treyarch always copies what the original team does (now they're copying Titanfall poorly). Planting yourself on to a wall seems to have a sort of disconnect, it doesn't feel fluid at all and momentum is jerky when you go from air movement to being fused to the wall and running in a perfectly planar path.
Thrust jump letting you tap in succession to sort-of hover or hold for one big double jump feels a lot more janky and floaty compared to the tight double jump and air dash of AW. Besides not feeling that good on their own, the movement made available doesn't gel well with the maps as they are designed. The environments are only partially designed to accommodate players flying around.

Insight definitely makes things more... something. I wouldn't say "interesting" in the usual sense of the word, it's definitely NOT more action-oriented, but the plot and problem tackled are actually better written than those of season 1. The new Gatchaman's a shit but the new "bad guy" of the season is definitely great and there's plenty of good Hajime and Berg moments.
If you liked season 1, you'll like season 2. If season 1's focus on socio-politics and shit hirked you, don't expect anything different from season 2. Just a more consistent plot anda much more solid ending.Also don't let the intro fool you, OD never suits up.
Overall I'd say season 2 was better than season 1.
