This. I played Demon Souls, Dark Souls, and Bloodborne. After playing Bloodborne, I tried DS2 and more than the mediocre visuals(I'm not really hating on that, it's a port and I'm sure they did an awesome job), it felt clunky. Everything about it felt rigid. I went back to DS1 to check to see if I was just spoiled by BB, and no, DS1 didn't feel that way. DS2 is just... too damn different for me.
Which is sad because I really wanted to waifu the hell out of the Emerald Herald.

I starter playing it after not playing DkS2 for almost 2 years and yeah, i got really fucking bored by the time i reached the Ruin Sentinels.
I think i only went through with it the first time due to release hype. The game takes too long to get interesting, it gets fun when you beat Lost Sinner and go to Huntsman Copse, gets shitty again when you reach the Windmill, then goes back to being good when you reach the Iron King's Castle, then back to shit when you go to Tseldora, and so forth...
It only becomes consistently good from the Castle onwards, and it ends with a shitty final boss anyways.

So /v/, who is your favorite boss in the series? Mine is definitely Father Gascoigne, everything about him is perfect. He's fucking cool, sets the mood for the whole game, and has an insane twist that makes you shit your pants. He also teaches you to play the game, if you play it like Dark Souls he rips your asshole out. Because he has the same tools as you, you feel like a dope for losing, and then you get him down and do well, and he goes fucking werewolf and decimates you where you stand.

tbf it doesn't have as much build variety or weapons you can fool around with. You can spend dozens of hours just screwing around with new toys in DaS. On the flipside BB is tight as fuck, and NG is pretty much the best out of all the Souls games. All the bosses, areas and enemies are top tier. Replay value is a lot more limited and the chalice dungeons suck for the most aside from the odd boss encounter. It seems like the new expansion will fix the build variety complaint so there's that

Use whatever weapon you want. They're all perfectly viable. If you want to experiment with some of the weapons you get later in the game, a +7 or so weapon will get you through a pretty big chunk of the game, so you can use it while you're looking for other weapons to use.
There's not really any need to upgrade your armor. Put together a set that you like the looks of and that lets you roll how you like and upgrade it when you don't have anymore weapons you want to upgrade.

BB changed things, Dark Souls II ruined things. BB didn't bloat/split stats and fuck with established lore like DaS II did, and shit level design isn't subjective. Bosses could be, but you cannot tell me that any of DaS II's bosses barring Fume Knight and Alonne are anywhere near the highlights of the other games.
I'm not saying Chalice Dungeons aren't utter shit, I'm saying because they are basically a separate game mode, it's retarded to imply that it's somehow the worst thing to ever happen to the series. You can experience everything worthwhile BB has to offer without touching chalices.
What DaS3 needs:

Protip: during Dark Souls development, "Elite Knight" was actually the Knights set. Knights Set as it is now was Elite.
They literally just thought because the lesser clothed one "looked" more fancy, that it should be swapped around.
A similar thing happened in Dark Souls 2 that never was fixed.
"Greatshield of Glory" and "Tower Shield" in Dark Souls 2 got mixed up. Greatshield of Glory is the one you get off the giant knights at Dragon Aerie, but it's description talks about Syan.
However, the "Tower Shield" which is used by the Syan Knights makes opposite mention of large warriors.
Not to mention, the drakekeepers of dragon aerie literally look like Tower Knight from Demon's Souls.
Further, "Greatshield of Glory" is more fitting a name for the shield with the sun emblazened upon it.
They essentially either fucked up or some dindu at From swapped them intentionally for some unknown reason, and didn't fix their lore and descriptions.
