I'm playing Arkham Knight right now. It's not mine or my PS4, I won't be here for long so I thought I'd get as far as I could in the time I have.
It's pretty mundane so far. I really wish I was playing Arkham City instead.
The batmobile parts were just tacked on and feel totally out of place. And a racing course? From the Riddler of all people?
I'm getting through it but I'm not especially enjoying it.

Halo 5 is way better than what I expected, the MP isn't just "ok" it's arguably the best in the series.
Bloodborne is a great game overall and I give it credits for being an actual evolution of the Souls games.
Witcher 3 was fine too even if a little-half assed.
I agree about everything else.
At least we got couple of best girls this year.
Yes AAA gaming is nothing but bloated samey terribly voice acted moviegames with connect the dots stories that have been hollowed out of substance to be filled with marketable bullet points and an overinflated budget, each coming in one of two flavors: sandbox or no sandbox, and they all have glitchy releases and day one DLC and patches.
It's been this way for the past 5 years or longer, OP. Try not buying AAA games and you might not get ripped off.

I thought a lot of those games were good. Not amazing, but I never let myself get invested in any kind of hype.
MGSV was disappointing, but mostly because it didn't have anything I loved about the series like the James Bond esque villains and stuff. But I knew from Ground Zeroes it was aiming to be much more serious. Was still an enjoyable stealth game, like MGS4. At least it wasn't one big long movie like MGS4, but it was still just as stupid.
I'm actually kind of intrigued with how Battlefront 3 is going to turn out. I actually thought the beta was fun for awhile until I realized that the rebels had little to no chance of winning a game. They said they would fix that, but I'm still not pre-ordering or anything. I'll definitely pick it up if it ends up being fun though, I'd love a new Star Wars game with that kind of graphic and sound design. Even if it isn't really like a Battlefront game.
I don't see what Activision buying King has anything to do with though. Companies buy out other companies all the time.

I've won countless games on Hoth by myself as a rebel just by saving the orbital strikes for the AT-AT. Even with minimal friendly support, one orbital strike = one AT AT down.
The people playing this game were the real problem, guess why? It's designed so even my grandma can play the game, from the vehicles to the gunplay, it's casualized as fuck, there is nothing subtle and even my normie friends noticed it.
I'm not saying it's a bad game, but it's a game designed for short sessions, there is no depth.

I don't understand how being made casual makes it harder to play the game. Even without depth it's needlessly complicated.
I think the big problem was that the control sensitivity for vehicles were fucked up and rebels couldn't fly the snow speeders properly to tie the AT-AT legs.

This year actually had alot of good games. You just had to look for them. Pic related, alot of games came out, but only a few could be considered worthy enough to be GOTY.
Sadly, alot of dudebros would disagree with me because my choice in games doesn't have excess violence or sex, or cutscenes galore. So I'm considered to have "kiddy" tastes, even though I think its kinda silly that a game has to be FOR MATURE GAAYMERS for it to be good.

Haven't played MGSV yet, I just recently bought Metal Gear Legacy collection to get into the series
Splatoon was great and has a bright future ahead, it's an even better GOTY Marerisl now with all the extra content and free DLC we've been getting
Mario Maker was great and sucked a lot out of my time
Woolly World is the true successor to Yoshi's Island while still lacking in some parts, it's what Yoshi Story should've been and it's fun and comfy
Undertale was neat and interesting
I'm hyped for Fallout 4 and Black ops 3 as well as Super Pokemon Mystery Dungeon which all look great

Only good games I played this year were Bloodborne, Splatoon, and Trails in the Sky SC. MGSV had great core gameplay, too bad it was so repetitive work not even a good story to keep things interesting.
