why do developers do this?
why do they limit how far objects and shaders can be rendered in the menu settings, when clearly they can be pushed further??
grass and shadow rendering distance with tweaks in the witcher 3 is astronomically different from the highest in-menu settings

yup, the difference is negligible at best. The AA is still shitty post-processing crap in both.
And this trend is getting more common all the time. Here's example of FC3, which at least shows some, but still minor differences between the low/high modes.

The only thing texture quality will change is the vram usage, so if you have over 2 gigs it doesn't matter how fast your card is, and even entry level cards have 2-4 gigs now.Sometimes less than advertised :^)
