Mother games any good ?
Fun, quirky JRPGs that many, many games have tried to copy the "feel" of because it's so unique in that respect.

I played Earthbound for the first time like 6 months or so ago and I loved it.
I've played man JRPGs and this is one of the most unique ones I've played.
2 and 3? Yes
1? One of those cryptic RPGs from the 80s that you can't beat without a guide.
Earthbound is great but you can't take it too seriously. It's quirky and upbeat but not in that lolrandum way that indie shit is, you just roll with it.
Also don't expect anything deep. This isn't Hemingway by a stretch.

it isnt. I made my normie friend who only grew up with a 360 play it because he wouldnt shut up about mother 2, and he beat it easily without a guide on his phone.
He ended up thanking me and loving it more than I did. Was kinda unexpected, but hey. Mother 1 has unique vibes.

1 is completely optional
2 is good if you still dream about your childhood and want to experience cool adventures with your friends.
3 if you have >tfw and want a moving story

He is right in regards to the inventory system. Managing items is the crappiest thing about the game.
