Ok so I know I'm late to the party but I have been playing the Dead Space series since it was on my backlog for a long time and I just finished 1 and 2.
Great games.
Now I just started Dead Space 3 and picked ''Hard'' mode just like the 2 previous games since it was the hardest difficulty you can pick before completing the game the first time.
And I know I'm just in the beginning of the game but the game keeps throwing more healthpacks at me than I can pick up.
Is it supposed to be this way?
Also, what the fuck is up with the universal ammo shit?

Throw the healthpacks in storage, you'll need them later.
Hard gets to be a pick of a nightmare once they throw a shitload of those alien Necros at you, hope you're prepared.
Universal ammo is there for their new "weapon crafting system". Ammo conservation is out the window, just try to get something that deals a lot of damage very fast.
Revolver is always a good bet. Plasma Cutter gets fucking useless.

Don't play 3. It seriously ruins the story and doesn't bring any close (in fact less closure than 2 did).
IF you decide to play 3 only play it while you're in space and as soon as you reach the snow planet stop playing because the game just takes a nosedive from there.
Also, making your own weapons might sound fun but it's so easy to break the game it's not even fun.

No, it's a bit too action oriented, but still enjoyable.
The difficulty kinda picks up about half way through, but it's still decidedly the easiest.

Find the resource exploit and grind for two hours.Universal ammo is fucking useless, its meant for ordinary guns. When u get used to the crafting system, rig up the chain saw ripper blades with the blow back mod thing.

Playing the game in impossible and pure survival mode is fun though
