Is it necessary to get the 1TB version of the PS4 or could I do with a 500GB one and eventually switch out the HDD?
The red MGSV edition is in stock here and it looks gorgeous so I'm torn.
I'm still butthurt to this day about that bundle not being available in America. I would say absolutely get it, since it's easy as fuck to switch out the HDD.
just get the 500gb and switch it out for a bigger one when you're ready.

different anon, but I've been looking for a reason to buy a ps4. I don't think paying almost double the cost of a new regular ps4 would be worth it. Sure it will only get more expensive and I'd have a nice looking collector's console, but I could just buy the vinyl decals and save money.

Out of the 3 eighth-gen consoles, it's the shittiest. I own one and all it ever does is collect dust. There's nothing to play on the thing unless you like regurgitated weebshit. Buy a Ps4 and you'll regret it, amigo.
1TB isn't really enough tbh. should come with 2TB or more. thankfully, there is a way to get a not so expensive HDD with that much space. Bad news is all of the 2TB drives are from a shit brand and the only way to get more space than that is a crappy accessory by Nyko.
