Paying for mods is not a new thing. If you play games such as Euro Truck Simulator you know that many mods ask for donation. It has been like that for years and years. Paying for mods not only encourages modders to put more effort on their creations, it also encourages more people to become modders. I would gladly pay money for the hours of fun of mods created by Chesko. Also, DLC sized mods, such as Falskaar, Wyrmstoot, Helgen Reborn, The Gray Cowl of Nocturnal are just the type of content you would all gladly pay your money if Bethesda did it. But just because a modder did the same content, sometimes even better content, you guys instantly ignore the ammount of work the modder put on his creation because it doesn't carry the "Official Content" seal. Also, can someone explain me why is it so wrong to pay a couple of bucks for a nice sword in Skyrim with actual impact on gameplay but it is ok to spend hundreds of dollars on knives and Ak-47's skins on CS:GO? Don't be hypocrite.

Steam/Valve has coaxed people into spending tons of money on their library, made them "dependant" they have all your games, gaming social circle, achievements etc etc.
People have become dependent on the likes of Steam, one thing about pirating games is, you're never sucked into that dependency, no time-invested achievements or willywaving profile to drag you back.
