I finished all Beard levels with nearly melee only aside from like one section, all in full combos.

Fans are the best gameplay-wise. Writer is close second, and Richter also makes it for the feel. I even took liking to Beard's levels playing on Hard with Flamethrower unlocked, but there is simply too many of them in the game. Pardo would be okay if we got to play asthe Miami Mutilator[/spoler] as well. Jake is cool, but only 2 levels iirc. The Pig Butcher is completely forgettable, and both the Henchman and the Mobster are shit, save for the final level.

Using the excuse that someone 'deserves to die' for willingly signing up to be a soldier is a bit extreme. Not to mention that the Hawaiin Conflict is something entirely unique to Hotline Miami's universe, and it could have been similar to Vietnam with drafting. Even if you don't want to kill, in the military you can't just choose to flee once you've lost your taste for it. The price to pay for desertion is harsh; even moreso with two megapowers like the USA and USSR in conflict, I imagine.
Richter really didn't have the option to leave. He had no money and was being hounded by 50 Blessings. If he died, that wasn't really an issue for him, but it would doom his mother. So he put his own well-being and personal feelings aside for her sake.

The first time playing Hotline Miami 2, I had a hard time, it was fucking painful, I was so used to being "Good" at the first one, that I had to change my whole playstyle and learn to aim.
Then I remembered, I had a hard time with the first one too, until I got good.
The more I played 2, the better I became, the more fun I had.
I can finish it really quickly now, and actually feel the changes made from one were mostly for the better, so yeah, I liked 2 more because it was better done.
You might disagree with me, which is okay, to each is own, but if you feel the game is "bad" or "too hard" just keep playing it, don't surrender, you can do it.
