I have never been more hyped for a game after they released this series of videos.
This is the only one I could find that survived, but there was another that mentioned the hand-crafted world and NPC dialogue, and that just blew my mind at the time.
I find it difficult to get hyped about anything these days. So many lies about features and quality now.

IMO, I don't know if it was disappointing but maybe it just wasn't what I expected. I wanted it to be like the old True Crime games or Sleeping Dogs, where you can take part in the police activity and do the actual investigations and shit, but if you wanted to go postal, you could do it at any time. No matter what people think of the game itself, it was a technological marvel considering how well the facial technology worked on PS3 and 360. The performances werent always the best but the fact it worked as well as it did was astounding. I really want rockstar to follow up on this series, or whoever owns the IP, I know bondi got shuttered a long time ago.

The game ended up being Bioshock+, they didn't even change the engine. It was still using a prototype UE3 or heavily modified UE2. It wasn't consistent at all, and the combat itself was too old. The quality took a nose dive, when combat was engaged.

I remember watching this, then finding out that a playstation magazine carried a demo disc of the game.
Got it and played every single nook and cranny of that demo.
Climbed the main castle, went out of bounds, glitched through areas and got every upgrade. Fucking loved every second of it.
Yet somehow I never finished it when i got the PS2 and even bought the HD remake of it and still haven't finished it. One of this fucking days.
