Download a farm map, trying to farm research normally is suffering. Save it for your second or third playthrough though.
E.Y.E. turned out to be one of my favorite games.
I like the freedom it gives you to break the game.

I got all but one of the researches by going to new eden & heading to the small corner street with the turret, in front of the big warehouse.
