My worst of 2014 has to be Wolfenstein The New Order because it looked at 20 years of shooter innovations and decided to say fuck you we're making a dated 90's shooter with mid tier graphics and fuck you give us your money.

Sorry it's not 1999 anymore. Health regen helps pace the game better so you don't get halfway through a mission and get blasted by some faggot and have to restart half the level. I consider myself pretty good at games because I have beaten every CoD and Battlefield on the hardest difficulties but the new order was too hard. It did shit that was simply there to force you to die. The robots were OP as fuck and guns were all weak as fuck. I struggled to get through it on the medium difficulty because of the stupid fucking health pack system.

On all "difficulties" in COD and Battlefield you are still fucking invincible as long as you hide to get ur health back often enough. Thats all that difficulty is in any game with regenerative health, by selecting a higher difficulty u are just choosing to spend a longer amount of time hiding behind cover.
I enjoyed it. I like that kind of setting anyway, but I was bothered that they sold the game as a game where you would have the option of not killing things, but then they literally put you in areas where you need to kill everyone
Past the first two missions, you can't lure things into traps, it gets extremely linear. All of the stuff leading up to release had me believe it might be like RE4, with a persistant world, but it turned out to be a linear TPS

I don't know if it's a particularly big issue with a game like The Evil Within, but it was fucking awful in Dragon's Dogma. Letterboxing and low fps ruined that game for me, I'm mad jel of everyone on /v/ who had fun with it.

I bought this fucking game day 1. I was actually having a fun time playing it. I was like "wow stealth and survival horror? damn this is like a dream come true my two favourite genres come together.
and then my gpu caught fire and i can't play ANY fucking next gen games for another month or so until I graduate and go to work full time. even then it'll be a while until I get the time and money together to replace my gpu and start playing again.
In the meantime I have to listen you fuckheads shit on this game trying to bring down my hype to finally play it one day.

TEW was the first AAA game I bothered to get release week since Skyward Sword.I liked it. Flawed as it is, I still beat it twice and will probably pick up the DLC whenever I feel arsed enough to do so.
