Because they are focused on making the game a competitive one.
This is why I love RUSE. It strips all of the powergaming bullshit away. There are no hotkeys. There is no microgame. The controls are tight.
But most importantly it is designed so that you have fun and that everything is great to look at. It was made with the intention that you could just take a step back and gander at what was happening. Everything looks cinematic. Battles are dramatic. You give the commands and the game makes it look like a movie.
That's the direction RTSs need to go. Not this MLG every button is binded, every single faction is the exact same and perfectly balanced in every way kind of shit.

What are some RTS with comfy base building? Like the ones where I can slowly build an impossible to breach fortress while AI sends waves and waves of soldiers to breach it. Something similar to Stronghold.
>>285869465
As such, not really a lot.
The Germans are OP, as they were in its predecessor, and the allies (especially Americans) fairly lacking lategame.
The campaign is (or was, haven't played it since release) utter garbage. I played through all the missions on hard, and didn't even break a sweat at any point. The AI just never, ever attacked or engaged you by itself.
You could literally just go afk and come back when you had some resources to throw at the mission.
There is one thing that annoys me, which is that they seem to have removed the performance thingy on peoples accounts, so whenever you host a game, there's always some prick that thinks 20 fps and max settings is a-ok, except it pisses everyone else off that the game is slowing down.
Not god-tier in the sense of a good RTS, but it's god-tier in the sense of it's atmospheric as FUCK.It's also a decent RTS too, so it's got that going for it.

>Managing your troops could be a potential nightmare, and Oxide is taking an approach befitting the game's scale. Players can select groups of units and assign them into what they call meta-units. These effectively function like a single unit in a traditional RTS, even though it's a teeming mass of individual ships working together. For example, if you have tanks and artillery in a meta-unit, the tanks will prioritize protecting their long-range allies.

Gimme a good single player experience to start me off in the wargame titles, maybe the one with the biggest casual filter?
>get this in the Humble Bundle
>expect horrible shit
>it's a dumbed down SupCom but the campaign is fun
Dumbing down a game as perfect in mechanics as SupCOm is a crime, but I expected much worse from this.
>>285877369
I thought the multiplayer was fucking phenomenal
>>285877354
Deltas suck on paper and in practice, they're the worst SF unit and that's fact.
Yes the M72 LAW, its great. I bet you also use ARs like some kind of pussy.
>>285877264
Some of their music sounds like it was written for an anime intro sequence

There's still an MP community, people are still buying the game
Fuck you I liked it.
>>285877369
MP was good while it lasted, too bad it all went to hell when guns came in. (everyone had goddamn mini guns)

>>285877095
>>285877435
Nice, thanks
>>285877541
It really wasn't that terrible, and the effects created a huge amount of cathartic joy for me.
>that motherfucking nuke
Step aside, WiC.

I was talking about Men Of War bro.
>>285877679
Ikko Ikki was the beginning of the end of the multiplayer I thought
Only TW game I ever played the muliplayer of though
>>285877810
Even if it is it shouldn't hold you back form enjoying it.
>>285877810
I have a toaster, but the game has aged too.
>>285877787
>Aardvark
You some kind of pussy bitch?
>>285877770
>>Same devs as Wargame and RUSE
>You say that like it's a good thing
Can't tell if retard or troll.
>>285878143
Better than using scrub tool 101 the F 117
>>285870893
the game is anything but axis bias and US are anything but UP, rifleman fuck over grens and volks so hard it's not even funny.
My advicegit gud
>>285877548
No, fuck all of that.
They're the worst SF but they're STILL SF.
How many dipshits spam Motostrelki and their counterparts. I'll bet you money DF will hold their ground even if the are the worst SF.

>>285876737
>MoW:Vietnam
>mission 1
>"So yeah, here's your 4 man spetsnaz team, go kill all of these americans, steal their trucks, did I mention that the trucks are broken and you need to get fuel for a boat? Well you do so go do that. Oh, and don't get spotted"
>>285877647the last good c&c game that wasnt 3
>>285878370
They do but for thier cost of 25 points I would take a squad of marines instead.
>>285878467
Thought i had a bad time with the "secure the fuel depot" in one of the MoW german campaign missions
fauck
>>285878297
Real men hold faith in the Skyhawks and A-10s.
>>285878370
>How many dipshits spam Motostrelki and their counterparts.
None because they realise Spetz absolutely skullfuck the US.
>>285878836
>Real men hold faith in the Skyhawks and A-10s.
I guess real men get shot down in a blaze of futile glory alot.
>>285875834
>notASkinwalker
Nice try
>>285873846
you let the germans take over everything
>>285878467
Wait until you play Condemned Heroes. Some missions are just retarded.
>"take a fortified hill with like 10 guys"
>after hours of savescumming, I do it
>"now defend it against a full batallion and tanks, lol"
I ended up beating the campign, but the MoW campaigns and European Escalation made me feel like a pussy.
>>285878975
>not gunning down jets with A-10s
Oh boy. I bet you didn't use MiG-17s as ASFs in ALB either.
Quick, post your favorite Wargame unit and your respective face when using it to full effect
>Marder 2 with PzGren '90
>>285875974
>finland will NEVER EVER be in wargame because the engine doesn't support draggable cannons
May not be perfect, but it's pretty to look at andfunto play.
>>285879147
Nope I used a BUK like a sensible boy.
All the air superiority I needed.
>>285878836
Oh you'd be surprised.
Also, is there actually any reason to use non shock/SF infantry anymore?
