So I really want the G rank Barioth armor, but I'm really just not sure if I can last long enough in high rank armor to get it. From what I see, I only need Lagombi, Khezu, and Najarala parts. Not exactly the most difficult of monsters, but I hear that G rank does a fuckton of damage. Is Stiggy Ziggs armor good enough to last for early G rank to get those parts?

Spec your kinsect in speed. 99% of the time when you're using your kinsect, you'll just press R+X to send it out straight ahead, point blank to extract juices, and R+Y to bring those juices to you.
Red Juice is the most important as it increases your attack speed/changes your combo entirely. It's almost always located on the monster's head.
White juice tends to be on the tail and increases movement speed.
Orange juice is in weird spots and is your least concern.

Speccing in speed may be the most popular way, but it's far from the only way. Speccing in Power turns your Kinsect into a surprisingly strong range attack for when monsters are enraged and a bit too dangerous to approach. Add in some Stamina, and you can get off a few good hits before even recalling it.
Better yet, keep all 3 balanced. This leads to my personal favorite final Kinsect that can bring back two buffs at a time after a nice romp through a monster's entire body.
Speed is the standard, and a lot of people who never quite master how to use the Insect Glaive to its fullest potential rely on it all the way through. But learning how to utilize Power and Stamina well is a necessity to mastering the weapon.

power is worthless early simply because it's SO slow. Speed is a priority, Power is for when your kinsect reaches an acceptable speed.
When you get to end-game you spec the insect with a specific recipe to get a kinsect that extends the buff duration.

I disagree, and I disagree from personal experience. I spec'd for Power early on, and my Kinsect destroyed shit. Speed doesn't matter nearly as much as everyone says, because 9 times out of 10 you'll be close enough to the monster to hit it immediately anyway. A strong Power Kinsect can help keep DPS up while still giving just as many buffs.
And there are four paths for an end-game Kinsect for a reason. If you honestly believe that the buff duration one is the only choice, you're just ignorant. The Balanced one is much better for certain playstyles, letting you get up your buffs much more quickly and frequently by bringing in more buffs per round, as well as giving amazing healing potential with its heal boost. The Buff Duration build is more suited for people who have a hard time aiming their Kinsects and who play more defensively.

well iodrome is my new most hated monster. Has anyone got Brachy tips? I beat him last night in his urgent (LR) by carting twice, then this morning I carted three times on his frenzy quest. Beat him afterwards by playing it pussy as FUCK. I'm having loads of problems with just evading his normal attacks (using Lance), and I cannot block his endless barrage of shit often. Often when I try to hop out of something he ends up doing the headbutt with an aoe of the fucking Chernobyl fallout radius and I'm sent flying.
And when I try to heal he sometimes snipes me with a lunging exploding headbutt.
I just cannot capitalize on any openings, as he punishes me immediately afterwards. I did most of my damage with mounts, and let's be honest, if you kill a monster with mounts you don't really know how to fight it.

I miss playing MHT on the TV with my keyboard plugged in. The tiny ugly low-res screen, unergonomic rectangle that gets warm, the analog stick has no grip and I have to keep wiping my thumb on my shirt every ten minutes, lack of god-tier classic controller, and the chat just suffers compared to just chatting it up via keyboard with folks while you're in the lobby.

I used to main lance in MHF1, MH3U and MHP3rd and I still don't like fighting Brachy with lance. I mean I can deal with it if I use evade+1 but guarding isn't really an option here, you should only counter the roar.
Hammer, HH and CB (if you know how to use guard points) are the best options in my opinion, IG should be great too.
don't get me wrong, you can easily kill brachy with lance but it gets off the screen too often, you need to know what it's going to do so you can dodge its attacks even if you can't see them coming.
