Name a flaw.
>>
v-ism.
Literally the only flaw, in my opinion.
>>
>>285645987
No sailor moon in it.
>>
It was on the Sega Saturn.
>>
can we have an online version
>>
V-ISM
Forgettable OST
ez
>>
The guard meter wasn't a great idea.

Not awful and the intent was in the right place but ultimately didn't add enough value to the game for what negative impact it had.
>>
>>285645987
Juggling.

Still i think this is the best one and franchise died after this one.
>>
Shitty music compared to previous SF games.
>>
>>285649523
SOME of it was okay.

Like Vega or Ryu's theme. Those wasn't bad.
>>
>>285646751
What made you think the series turned into a zombie after Alpha 3?
>>
>>285649523
I have to disagree. It might not have been as hummable as others, but it's got good energy for a fight. The Las Vegas stage/music combo is one of my all-time favorite fighting stages.
>>
>>285649865
I agree; compared to SF3 ost is godly.
>>
>>285650042
Because SF3... and 4.
>>
>>285650279
SF3 is understandable, because it was kind of the bastard child of the series that didn't sell well, but SF4 is popular and sold really well.
>>
>>285650529

....3rd Strike is one of the most praised fighting games worldwide.

No, it didn't get the recognition of 2 or 4, but to call it the bastard child? No. That's EX.
>>
>>285650529
I understand 3 s well but that's me being kind; the game has fatal flaws. And SF4 is irrelevant; popularity and sales don't meant quality, it's just a fact.
>>
>>285650750
Yeah you're right. I'd completely forgotten about EX until you mentioned it just now actually.
>>
>>285650871
EX wasn't made for another team, though?
>>
>>285650847
>fatal flaws

I am triggered. List them.

these aren't flaws, they're nitpicks:

>"unplayable tiers"
>muh announcer voice
>ost
>weird characters
>>
>>285651008
I'm pretty sure EX wasn't even made by Capcom.
>>
>>285646174
Gonna stop you there. The Saturn port of Alpha 3 is better than the Dreamcast port, believe it or not.
>>
>>285645987
SPDs are trickier. Otherwise perfect!
>>
>>285651050
Parrying. It just didn't work and ruined the game overall.
>>
It's not the MAX version
>>
>>285645987
>Z Street Fighter Ero 3
Get your shit together Capcom.
>>
This game had the best fucking announcer ever.

YOU CAN'T GIVE IT UP
>>
>>285651151

...?

Parrying (in the hands of skilled players) eliminated zoning, eliminated safe jumps, created more wakeup options, made players think twice about chipping, etc.

holy shit, red parrying? that's one of the coolest features to date. it opens up a whole new window for countering blockstrings.

was it too easy to perform? maybe. but players who parry everything are easy to deal with.
>>
>>285651151
Parrying did not "ruin the game." Parrying just took Street Fighter in a very un-street-fighter-like direction, not necessarily a bad one.
>>
>>285651151

I see what you're saying though.

Super turbo and the alpha series are some of my favorites next to 3S. It really depends on what mood I'm in.
>>
>>285651115
>The Saturn port of Alpha 3 is better than the Dreamcast port, believe it or not.
Huh.

That's interesting.
>>
>>285651371
>That Knockout sfx.

I hear the glory, glory!!

>>285651497
>>285651505

That's deflecting, guys. Trying to explain with reasons doesn't make it less guilty.

It doesn't matter pull the perception of "gaming" like serious busieness. Of course the consumer who spend time with is gonna learn and like it; but to the general public (the ones outside any subjective perception) the game is not good, nor enjoyable as the previous (and maybe, why not) and future SF.

Parrying ruined the game and turned into "forward/backwards fest".
>>
>>285652353
Yeah, it has some extras and bonuses that the Dreamcast version lacks, and even has some better animations.

Mitchell Corp developed the Saturn porn, not Capcom.

Tons of casuals love 3s, because they recognize it has a LOT of polish.

It is objectively better than 2 and the alpha series.

HOWEVER, I do enjoy the older games more on occasion.
>>
>>285651309
Gamest magazine actually printed the title as that once. But they were infamous for hilariously stupid typos.

I remember reading that 3S was Capcom's best-selling post-SF2 PCB in Japan. It certainly beat MvC2 and CvS2's sales over there

In America the most sold was MvC1 IIRC

>3S lacks zoning and poking game

Will this ebin meme ever die? I
>>
>>285654376

they sold better with each new entry.
>>
>>285654376
They didn't. SF3 didn't manage to catch on at all until 3S. That's probably the reason they called it "Third Strike"... if didn't do well this time, they were gonna be out. Fortunately, while it didn't become a big hit like some of their other fighters, it did manage to get some niche success among hardcore players.

I've heard that the SF3 series as a whole didn't make back any money until many years later, after 3S had been operating in arcades for some time and been ported to a few different home consoles.

It isn't good.
3 characters are so fucking high tier it's stupid.
BUT ANON YOU CAN PLAY X-Z
You can, but compared to the rest of the cast Chun and Twins outclass everyone.

Not the PSP version, so no Maki. A fatal flaw.
>>
>>285654448
zoning usually entails projectiles that control space. necro's normals have pretty low priority.

this is poking. that will never go away.
>>
>>285645987
>Extremely practical infinites
>Favors on a few play styles
>Not super balanced

Still a great game
>>
>>285645987
Shit music
The only song that I like is the Balrog (claw) stage
>>
>>285654780

3S sold well, especially for an incremental upgrade to 2I. Capcom stopped manufacturing the PCB in like 2006, which is pretty impressive for a game that came out in 1999 (tail end of an arcade generation)

>>285655010

Zoning entails controlling space by any means. You can zone with Dictator's standing MK all day in ST
>>
>>285654448
>Zoning with pokes for half a second
>He still lost despite the spacing
>HURRR DURR IT HAS REAL ZONING GUYS

No no it doesn't.
>>
>>285655010
>zoning usually entails projectiles that control space

Fireball zoning and normal zoning are zoning all the same
>>
>>285655010
>priority
this is how I know you don't even play street fighter, go back to smash
>>
>>285655135

So it's only zoning if you win? Chun zones you the fuck out in 3S with her pokes, like back+FP
>>
>>285654901

you're shitting me right?

I've stun juggled so many chuns and yuns in the corner with necro it's uncanny. most tier whores have similar playstyles. all it takes to win in 3s is to know what your opponent will do next. and yun telegraphs that pretty easily.
>>
>>285654307
It's Jojo's Venture
>>
>>285655268

why am I taking this bait

never played smash like a fighting game. you implying that it devalues someone's thoughts is hilarious though

Are you nuts? Yang is bleh. Winning with him is an uphill battle almost always. Shit health too

Tier list goes something like Chun, Mak, Yun, Ken, Dudley...etc.

>stuffing EX SBK with meaty cr.lk xx super

beautiful
>>
>>285655645
I'm implying that the idea of "priority" is a Smash Bros thing, not a street fighter thing. Anyone bringing it up has clearly spent more time on Smash than SF, which makes me not want to care about what else they say, if they're wrong about things like that.

It's not that smash is bad or anything, if someone complained about how shit 8way runs are in SF I'd tell them to go back to Tekken.
