Yes, I found it significantly easier. It's Tigrex and his subspecies in the desert (day). Big, open space, you can do the first trip relatively quickly, before the unknown faggot puts his rocks everywhere. But at least you can dung bomb the tiggys on your second run to the egg place. When I did it, I never dropped the eggs once, because I never saw the Tigrex.
There's NOTHING stronger in this game than Rathalos and Rathian's parenting alert. If you fuck with their eggs, they'll come for you.great way btw to force them to come to their nesting place when you wanna fight them instead of looking for them all over the map. Mounts are free periods to sharpen and heal and topples mean massive uninterrupted damage, more than could be achieved if the monster is running about in the topple time period. Besides that, jump attacks can't be deflected, which is great because the insect glaive is so long that you'll bounce off every possible bodypart.
The only reason spamming mount attacks are bad is for long fights where diminishing returns means you won't get the mount when you need it.

The Nerscylla can carry you straight to G Rank. Solid Raw, good sharpness, high enough poison to do consistent damage, and fairly easy to upgrade. The Gore one is good but takes longer to upgrade.

With Lander, you can cut right to the middle area from the nest by going through the cat area. Sure, for the third egg you still need to go through an extra area, but the exits area really close to each other.
I didn't even bother with killing the raths. I just painted them and kept waiting for them to fly to the nest before jumping to the cats.
The real last egg mission though, that's a different story: no shortcuts to jump from.

That sets effectiveness only really sets in when your attacks are getting deflected due to upgrades being few and far between at certain portions of the game.
Also it makes gravios shit himself.
Destroyer is generally useful too, but if you're not running into these issues a velociprey S set for the attack up is pretty decent.

Personally I stay under him. He doesn't really have any attacks that can deal with someone hugging his dick. Worst case he trips over you trying to re-position, and that's like zero damage compared to anything else he can do while you're anywhere else.
Another advantage is that if you're behind him, it's a lot easier for him to turn around and put you in front of him. If you're directly under him, it takes him more time to get away and re-orient giving you time to keep your ground. He also buckles really easily to successive attacks, and that coupled with the virus buffs mean he's a monster that heavily rewards aggression on your part.

I haven't used bows in 4U, but since you can revert the controls back to how they used to be, it shouldn't be hard at all. Charge while running around by holding X (similar to a hammer's playstyle), hold R and use the left d-pad to aim when you're ready to take a shot. I mained GS since the first game, then added LS and SnS all the way up to now. I literally can't into lance or gunlance, which my boyfriend adores.
CB is my new weaponfu though, although I still can't get the hang of guardpointing and I'm still not sure what Elemental Phial is good for, I've been upgrading the Dear Lutemis path and I'm working on the Guardsqual path as well in case they turn into decent weapons later on.

The ONLY way to get them is as quest rewards from fishing quests. And not even the one that only asks for S.Goldenfishes, the ones that require rare shit or account fishes. I have NO IDEA why they're so rare. On the plus side they're only used for a gimmicky line of longswords and ShotPlus 2 gems.

Elemental phial is for those monsters that happen to take more damage from elemental damage than they do from cutting damage. There's one or two of them. Fatalis takes major damage from dragon for example, and a mostly dragon damage weapon does wonders to him. Gravios and water damage isn't bad either

So I just unlocked the possibility to use every rage crystal type and three charms (quality don't matter) to create an array of new charms. could be two, but I already had 4 new charms waiting for me after the dude was done. However, I've only seen "Old Charms" as the best output. Should I play some RNG lottery here or should I save my charms? Can the better charm types (Rarity 8 and up) even be created with this dude or are they mining-only?
