My girlfriend is 33. We play a lot of SNES and N64 and PS2. She mostly plays JRPGs and Mario Kart and Bomber Man and some old PC RPGs like Planescape and Dungeonkeeper. I guess it's pretty cool. Often on weeknights we'll sit on the couch, her playing some console JRPG and me working on my pokemon or Smash 4 on handheld.
We're old and boring, I guess.
Back when my ex was still...well, not my ex, I got her into video games.
Before I met her, the only game she had on her DS was Pokemon Black, so she apparently played it over and over.
So, I bought her Order of Ecclesia and Chrono Trigger for it. She actually got pretty far in OoE (all the way up to dracula's castle, not sure if she got further after the breakup) but she couldn't get past the intro in Chrono Trigger.
She did name her Chrono after me though, which I thought was pretty cute.

I managed a couple of gamestores and was always pleasantly surprised when girls/women buy games and have a little chat. The "cake is a lie xDxD" thing is one of the past. Sure there was the exception one in a while, but they realised it's not special for a girl to be a gamer anymore and moved on to get attention another way.
