His best Yakuza film is Sonatine but it's not at all like a typical Yakuza film. Zatoichi is worth checking out for its amazing Keichi Suzuki soundtrack and the humor is amazing. Hana-bi is also great if a bit overrated.

Zero is the same as the standard Yakuza combat system except considerably faster and the animations in general seem more fluid.
The combat is more like musou/ninja gaiden in terms of button inputs instead of the Bam Ham system, personally I prefer the former but I can get why people would prefer the latter.

The only thing you will suffer will be the trows and enemy grabs, they apparently use the pressure system and it's pretty hard to do that shit with a xbox360 controller for obvious reasons.

Really? When I emulated them the graphics were all fucked up, the blur effect of the games wasn't rendered properly and was smeared all across the screen ruining most cutscenes. Was that fixed in the latest versions of the emulator?

No, you just had to fix with a 2 options:
Hardware Hack: Offset Pixel
It fix the ghostling effect of lights all over the screen
Then the screen lines all over the screen by fixing using 16:9 resolution like 2x native and up.
The blur effect i don't know which one you are talking about, if it's ingame while fighting like pic related or during the cutscenes.

The series needs a reboot pretty badly, as happy as I am to see 80s kamurocho I think they have one more game at most with Kiryu to wrap things up. Or best case scenario 0 has a scene at the end where Kiryu is remembering all of it as he goes off into the sunset.

I played it a long time ago, by blur I mean the lens depth of field effect. For example in Yakuza 2 when that police guy look through the gun, the game uses depth of field to focus on the gun first and then on the guy, on the emulator when I played it a few years ago every time the game did one of those tricks the whole scene would get irredeemably blurred or blurred in random spots.
