a more randomic experience
like everytime you play it feels different, and if you bring someone with you , that would also change things
i like the unexpected
thats why i love FTL
i can see how my decisions affect me, but in the end i feel like i m a victim of fate
>>
Not into the ground. That's all I ask.
>>
Stop pandering to normies.

There's plenty of randomly generated games.

Towards erotic games
We've got VR, we've got realistic graphics, we've got freedom on PC to publish anything, it's about time the porn industry explore this

Randomly placed enemies/movement patterns, especially in stealth games
Realistic flowing hair (individual hairs)
No more clipping, objects react realistically to clothing and environments
An end to developer/franchise worship
An end to physical media

What is a normie?

Not being redefined as "interactive media".

Games have lose conditions. That's what makes it a game. You can't lose at a book or a webpage no matter how interactive you make it.

If you don't know, you are one.

Faggot.

This.

Also, stop trying script every damn "exciting" thing. I think more games need to let emergent scenarios play out. I'm sick to death of being run through theme parks.
>>
5 hour long cinematic experiences
unlike you nerds, i have life and no time to grind needlessly.
in fact even 5 hours is too long: games should be 90 minutes with ability to skip all the gameplay parts.

Just watch a freaking movie.
>>
>What do I want

The opposite of what devs think I want.
I want them to be original and go bonkers, give me stuff that amazes me and that goes beyond my imagination.
>>
>>284150035
These are the casuals that Miyamoto keeps talking about.
People who see video games as common entertainment. People that say "Here, I paid for you. Now entertain me."
You people need to go watch a damn movie or go to an amusement park. Videogames are not for you.

I want the West to pander to weeaboos and otaku

Wayforward and Skullgirls Lab fighting the good fight.
>>
>what direction

Straight to hell would be a fine start.
>>
>>284145980
AAA's to die and just niche games to exist
>>
>>284152307
Dante's Inferno, the Devil May Cry series, Bayonetta 2.
>>
Games being made for enjoyment and profit
>>
Once the current trend of "cinematic" games is over and videogamesgames are actually videogames again, I'd like it if devs tried their hands at making games legitimately cinematic. I think film has done a lot to develop a visual language, which games should reinterpret to suit their needs. Lighting and atmosphere in 3D games for example.

simulations.

something like a literal god game where the sandbox is a planet with complex AI and physics.
>>
New weird game mechanics being played with, whether it reflects facets of reality that aren't often represented in games or becomes more abstract and farther from real life.

True complete VR immersion.

God tier storytelling using the above. Whether it's a totally virtualized novel with no gameplay or a mix between satisfying gameplay and atmosphere of any ratio.

Further polishing of tried and true game mechanics and types. Possibly some input devices that surpass the limitations of existing ones. Mouse and keyboard is pretty great, but we could do better. Maybe analog, pressure sensitive type buttons will become easier and cheaper to produce, or what was once considered gimmicky becomes so viable that it's as accurate as more traditional methods.

Cool shit with AI, not just intelligent NPCs, but games that are intelligent and alter themselves according to your behavior. For example, the game notices you interact with an NPC or object more than you do with others, so it generates an event that focuses on it.

More genre games.
More B-budget games.
More focus on doing a few things right, and not appeal to the mass audience. Get a larger enthusiast audience that buys and supports semi-large indi devs/b-tier studios. And the larger publishers also starts to make quality games with low budget to appeal to these consumers.
That is what I want.

I want video games to go back to how they were kind of like in 2004 or so.
Graphics, sure they're nice. Gameplay needs to be optimal. A good story is definitely a great addition.
90% fucking cutscenes and QTE's in between I don't like, but the video game industry has gone this way whether I like it or not.

I want the direction to go backwards to what video games actually are. I don't care for this SJW pandering shit because it's all politics and if a game comes out to pander to women there's a fucking thousand others I can play too.

The issue is when they're all doing the same fucking shit and the only thing that releases gameplay more than anything is indie shit and they're always the same fucking 2d pixel minecraft or FEZ garbage.

I can't really say I know where it needs to go. I can say that I would like some new faces to take us there though. I want all the executives and developers at all the major Publishers to just leave. All the decision makers and developers at EA, Ubisoft, Activision, Nintendo, Capcom, SquareEnix, and all the other big ones I can't be bothered to remember right now, just gone.
