By default all loot you come out of a mission with, that wasn't in your backpack when you went in, should go to the item box directly, or at least there should have been an option for that since the second game or so.

It's the all weapon. Walk speed. High burst damage or constant damage. KO ability. Parry. Block. sidestep. Watever the fuck you want. I don't even play the thing but can see how great it can be. Only downside I see is slow sheathing and no emergency guard from neutral.

It gets stupid amount of free damage with the red buff and you can dish out crazy dps with just the basic infinite combo.
