Pay to win is now acceptable because Nintendo did it. No matter what awful gaming trend occurs it immediately becomes acceptable once nintendo does it…. why is this? "it's okay when nintendo does it" is no longer just a joke, its a fact.
>implying Tecmo/Koei hasn't ALWAYS stuffed massive amounts of weapon/costume DLCs on to all Warriors franchises.
>Extra characters are pay2win
>Sonyfags and MSfags haven't been taking the same dick and liking it for years
"It's OK when Nintendo does it" basically seems to amount to "They're doing what we're doing, let's make fun of them."
Why is it that no one on /v/ understands words?
P2W is only if content locked behind a pay wall gives the player an actual advantage in gameplay, like Evolve's classes and monsters. Cosmetics and costumes are not P2W.
Not even defending Nintendo.
You have to take everything by a case by case manner. Back in the day you could get amazing expansion packs like The Conquerors for aoe2, but you could also get shit on like buying one of the dozens of Sims expansions. Sometimes you'll get DLC that doubles the longevity of a game for a third of the original price and sometimes you'll pay the price of the game over again for something that doesn't add to the experience. If you're smart with what you buy you're never have to complain about getting ripped off.
getting 5 hats in TLOU is $10.
in MK you get 8 characters, new vehicle parts and 16 courses for $4 more.
Not all of Nintys dlc is good (fire emblem was way too expensive) but they are far better than the competition.
Do you have some strange mental disease where anything anti-Nintendo is invisible to your sight?
The links he posted are the subject of what OP is talking about.
They released Candy Crush with pokemon faces.
>/v/ is one person with one opinion on a given subject
>Why is it that no one on /v/ understands words?
Because if you don't twist words up you have to actually work to make a concise and salient point, and most people here aren't capable of that.
>Anyone who disagrees with me is literally an autistic cuck Jew
Oh fuck off. It's not adding 300 hours of MEANINGFUL gameplay. You Nintendo fans are fucking delusional. DW was considered repetitive shit, but slap Zelda and Nintendo's name over it and you all hail it like some amazing experience. Give me a break.
If it's done properly DLC is great, I think season passes are a load of crap however especially on release, though I guess if you played the fuck out of a game it would be worthwhile.
Yes, yes. Everyone does DLC, everyone does Season Passes because what everyone ultimately cares is about money. Stop the presses and call the journos!
I'd rather have Nintendo do more DLC/Season Pass crap than fucking amiibos.
I don't really care about single-player games being p2w and neither should you.
However, the fact that Nintendo is starting to make mobile-type games is worrying. They've pretty much had to be dragged tooth and nail into that kind of market, but with the way Japan (and the industry in general) is now it was inevitable. It was bad enough when Capcom and Square-Enix did it.
>/v/ needs to make up their fucking minds.
Is DLC good or bad? Are season passes good or bad?
DLC isn't black or white, you double nigger. You have to look at the features of the DLC before you pass judgement, like:
>What is the DLC? (a new story/missions/mode, new character, new stages, skins/taunts, etc.)
>If it's new a story/missions, how long is the new content?
>Is the DLC pay2win?
>Is it on-disc DLC or things restricted from the main game just to make you pay more?
>How much is the DLC?
Which all leads up to:
>Is the DLC worth the money?
In short, DLC can be done right, but it can also be a shitty cash grab. It's up to you, the consumer, to decide whether specific instances of DLC are worth it or not.
>Grinding game DLC adds countless hours of grinding gameplay
>horse armor doubles the gameplay time because you can play with it on or off
Correct, If a DLC adds content to the game which adds to the replay value of a game then the DLC is good. Take for example Evolve, with the day one DLCS; Day one DLCs games for cosmetic stuff or content is like a big fuck you to the fan, Because it was content that was cut from the retail release.
So far it HAS been okay when Nintendo does it.
Mario Golf - Doubles content for $15 and the game was already at a discounted $30
Mario Kart - Two packs each with 3 characters, 4 karts, 2 new cups with 8 new tracks. For $10 to get 6 characters, 8 karts, 16 tracks and 16 skins. Great deal.
Hyrule Warriors - Don't even really need to go over how much content has come in HW DLC. Shit is a steal.
>Pay to win
>Single player game
Don't get me wrong I think DLC is horrible in all forms but come on man try at least a little bit to not sound completely retarded right out of the door.
