Paladin is important but kind of boring. It makes up for it by being the easiest class/role to play at high level. It's a good class to get into endgame and learn the fights without being overburdened by a lot of movement.
Warrior is much more fun but generally harder because it often takes the off-tank role. Higher skill ceiling of the two.

It's an MMO. Like most MMOs, it starts of slow but picks up over time.
I would say the game really starts picking up in the late level 30s, when you have a set rotation for your job you need to start to master.
End game is a lot of fun, provided you are an antisocial douchebag.

I used all my cooldowns because with all my cooldowns the healer was able to spot on heal against 7 mobs at a time. The 3 mobs the melee dps added was what tipped the scales and made additional measures a necessity.
