I would actually prefer it to be between the two games. I want to see how the gap between augs and nanotech closed over time. Maybe like 10 years after DXHR where nanites are starting to make some significant headway.
Remember in the first game where there were only a few augs around, what happened to the others? Did they all die from the psychotic episode or did they abandon augments? I really want to know.

The endings also had some goddamn meaning and closure instead of having Jensen narrate a bunch of unrelated videos about lumberjacks and nigglets.
It is a general problem that Human Revolution has throughout the entire game; everything is accessible with every kind of skill or playstyle. None of your choices have any real consequence. Even though the original game forces you to kill Navarre, you can do it in three drastically different ways and it manages to make it seem like you've made a significant choice.
The only real choice in HR is press [A] for lethal or [B] for non-lethal.
HR was like TDK where at first it amazes you. Then you replay it and realize it pales in comparison to its predecessor. You still got the idiots acting like it's better than the first though.

Eh man, i liked how DX:HR turned out to be, but i just don't know. It failed and suceeded in bringing in that delicious Deus Ex experience.
No conspiracies, no plot twist, press to win takedowns, shitload of augmentation points available (meaning there was no need to properly build your character), no deep dialogue akin to those with Morpheus, lack of secret areas and etc.
Yet i really liked the atmosphere, the graphics, the challenge (saving that pilot chick while going non-lethal was one of the hardest and coolest challenges in modern vidya), the gameplay (stealth was the tits, gameplay would be perfect if there was melee weapons instead of takedowns).
Don't know, maybe they'll deliver. Not buying into hype, though.

I have both the original HR and Director's Cut. I tried both and found the DC to be really stuttery, even with Registry changes. I also prefer the filter; without it the game looks really sterile.
