That said, playing ranged weapons in the beginning can be a bit of a pain, you might want to wait until high rank with ranged stuff.

This set gives marathon sprinter, and pro transporter, which makes you transport faster, and uses less stamina. You also have a talisman and extra slots for another skill, which I used for health +20 but you can do any third skill or none. The hardest part in making this set is the altaroth parts (2-3 jaws/stomachs) and steel eggs (2 required) which you can get from quest rewards of the gargwa egg quest (caravan 2 star).
When you eat, eat for fish+dairy and steam. This will allow you to have 2 of the 3 skills: Felyne Transporter, Felyne Escape Artist, Felyne Lander. I'm not sure if felyne transporter stacks with your armor transporter skill. However, all 3 are useful for transporting.
after sending them off on their own expedition I question how Felynes can even survive getting to their own homes

it's a useful tool as it lets you mount when you don't have an option to otherwise.
Jump attacks also aren't as affected by sharpness either. I've only had a few cases where my jumping strikes were deflected.
But try not to mount too much online or people will hate you. Try to do so when your teammates need breathing room to sharpen and heal. The cripple stage right after that gives them a big enough window for a big attack.

This Goddamn Blue Yian Kut-ku is driving me nuts. I just had to end it via subquest after 20 minutes of this nonsense.
I weakened it, to the point where it would have gone to sleep if it were any other monster, but no. What does Blue Yian Kut-ku do when it's exhausted? It flies around the map and stops in each zone for 20 seconds before leaving again. The one time I finally found it, I didn't bother paintballing because I told myself i'd kill it real fast.
I mounted it, brought it down, got ONE swipe on it with my SnS and Goddamn Deviljho shows up in the Goddamn Wyvern's Nest of all places. Screams. Yian Kut-ku gets up. Flies away. And I didn't see it again after 10 more minutes of searching.
Fuck this weird skinny skeleton bird.

There's also a skill in the game called Handicraft that gives you "Sharpness +1" when you get 10 points in it. It increases the sharpness of your weapon up a level so it can make a lot of green sharp weapons blue in the early game. If you see those sharpness bars on the list the bottom one is with Sharpness +1.
There is a couple pieces of armor you can get fairly early in the story mode that can give you this. I believe you need Gore Magal Chest, Gore Magala Waist, Ceanataur Helmet, Ceanataur Gloves, and Tetsucabra Legs (or any other leg with the "Torso Up.") Skill.
Do this and you can say goodbye to bouncing through most of the early game.

How the hell do I kill nersylla in everwood? So I see a lot of IG users saying to upgrade speed as much as possible so your bug will go out and come back faster.
However, thanks to sending/recalling the Kinsect being able to be combod from any move, I only send out the Kinsect as part of a melee combo because I find it simpler just to run up to the part I want to harvest, hit it with a combo followed by the Kinsect at the end.
Would it be worth it to ignore Speed at the moment and dump as much into Power as possible so my Kinsect delivers massive damage as part of my combos?
Considering I never have my Kinsect is never out for more than a couple of seconds, it seems like a solid plan to me but I might be overlooking something.
