You're either ok with piracy or you're not. It's not somehow worse when it's an indie game.

Most of the time if an interesting indie game is released I will pirate it, then purchase it depending on whether or not I enjoy it.

If they didn't want me to do this they should've included a fucking demo.

pretty soon all games will be free, because technology has made artistry and individual expression valueless and obsolete.

it's actually before the first 5 minutes.
I don't have a problem with paying for a game if it is well polished and complete product. The problem is that I rarely see that out of the indie community.
A lot of my main gripes are:
-Faux retro games: if you want to prove you can make a game, then by all means do so, but don't expect me to pay for it. I don't want to see another junk platformer since I can get my fill with 90's roms or flash games.
-Demoscene/concept stuff: testing out concepts is cool, but once you find out what works, make a real game out of it. Just don't slap a price tag on it.
-Early access: I will never feel comfortable paying for access to alpha stage software. Everything about it feels backwards from the days when gamers were the ones to be paid to find issues with incomplete products.
I did have a good time with Star Point Gemini 2.

Shit you're right. He really just remains in that state of horror and confusion for the full hour.
Piracy is great. I'll pirate any game I want to play, whoever made it. Piracy is free stuff. Free is my favourite price.
