God, I hated replaying that game, but we HAD to win.
>>282697183
The fade was fun. Especially mages asunder when those idiots used fire based magic while you strategically used burning man. I had one enemy who actually killed himself because of that.
This whole chapter on MN.I don't have a 360 so I settled for shit.

Boggly Woods, Chapter 4, the beginning island part of Chapter 5, Running through Hooktail Castle numerous times for side quests, including getting Ms. Mowz and getting the 2nd upgrade for Partners, and the search for General White are the things that immediately pop up in my head. Admittingly, the only thing that annoyed me with my first playthrough is Boggly Woods. Subsequent playthroughs however have really showed that there is a lot of backtracking, and without a way to immediately go back to Rogueport, it was really annoying to do.
Still solid gameplay and fun to play through, but it is annoying that it has to rely on backtracking so much.
>>282697857
I didn't post it because I got stuck on it.
I posted it because a lot of people I know got stuck on it.
I was already an SMT vet by the time I played 4 so it took me just 1 retry. Minotaur wasn't too hard either since I had 3 Bufu-casters already.
>>282697706
Beating the game 100% was hard enough, but having to start over again and again sounds like a special sort of hell.
>>282697183

I mean its called the DEEP roads. Would you have preferred a few waves of enemies and then the boss? Followed by a cinematic cutsene and your obligatory achievement? You would like that wouldn't you, you faggot.
>>282694886
The combat itself is easy, aside from Pit of 100 trials. It's the fucking backtracking that was a pain in the ass.

>>282696279
I actually got through it surprisingly quickly on my second run, but I still remember that first time. Holy shit, did it feel like it was just continuing on forever. It's not even really that hard, it's just slow and tedious.
I think in general getting the boat and having the whole world opened up to you made it confusing where you were supposed to go. Still kind of nice that you could explore at your leisure.
>>282698059
>finding this level hard
nigga just enter through the spider vents and you're there, the guards won't even see you. it's the easiest level in the game
Maybe I'm a casual or just an idiot, but the entire
second half of this game was really difficult for me
because half the time I had no idea what the hell
I was supposed to be doing.
Still a really fucking good game, though. The SNES-era RPGs were GOAT.
>>282695281
>>282698405
It's not that bad. Especially if you did some serious leveling (aka grinding) in Halloween Town.
>>282698367
Rusty Bucket Bay wasn't the easiest place to navigate, but it wasn't so hard that I hated it. I actually kind of enjoyed the challenge. As for Click Clock Wood, I like it on the virtue that I finally could get to it. You know that feeling when you've been staring at something which is so close, yet so far away? As a kid I used to try over and over again to get into that level, it was driving me crazy that I couldn't just jump up and get in there. Just being in Click Clock Woods felt orgasmic.

The mines themselves weren't bad (although fighting nothing but Pirates and constantly having to switch beams was tedious), but fuck that one gap where you have to jump toward a moving zoomer to grapple onto it, then swing half a mile to a mushroom. And if you miss, you HALF to walk through Phazon all the way to the start of the room.
Also, trying to get back up to the shortcut elevator from the mines to Magmoor Caverns takes so long that you may as well go all the way around.

And I have the game on a hard drive, and the lack of loading times is fucking fantastic. I can't wait to get to Prime 3, since the loading in that was my biggest problem with the game.

So if Nintendo released 'Sunshine HD', and got rid of those super frustrating bits, would /v/ complain about it becoming casualized?

Jak 2 is such a shit game. I bought the HD collection because I liked those games years go, and Jak 1 & 3 are still great but FUCK JAK 2

FLERP FLERP SQUIRT SQUIP
hey bro, I see one of your unions died. Mind if I borrow it?
>>282702785
yes

I have never struggled in a Grandia until this fucker
>>282702785
Yeah bet your ass I would. It would be a crime against humanity to take those out.
>>282702785
Well the pachinko level is straight up broken as fuck, so they could fix it and it would be a decent level
>>282702425
You've never beaten the game because of an optional boss you're suppose to fight after you've beaten the game?
>>282702835
Jak 2 is the edgy one?
>>282702785
>would /v/ complain
Gonna stop you there. Yes.
Mother! I did it again!
>>282701951
I'd been playing for so long I figured I must have beat the high score and let myself die. I was wrong.

>mfw I cleared this first time without falling and got the achievement
>>282703040
Yes but that's not the only reason it's bad. All the levels are protect/escort shit or time trials with no platforming
>>282702417
It still takes fucking forever, and it's a shame, because the game is literally my favorite series ever because of how much I played it on the gba.

>>282694886
>mfw it really is half the game
Chapter 2
Chapter 4
The Train station part of Chapter 6
The backtracking in Chapter 7

The sidequest half. All of the sidequests. Why did the sidequests have to be like that. Why couldn't the sidequests be good. Sidequests.

>a minute = forever
have you even tried using the hold B thing? on TLA it speeds up the text skipping a lot
you know what, what the fuck ever
enjoy not touching GS ever again
>>282702785
Pachinko sucks, but removing features is beyond retarded.
No, as it is, a casual player can simply play up to the seventh level in each world and be finished with the game. Only someone who truly wants to complete the game would have to worry about all the other tasks. It should definitely fix up the controls if anything. I mean they work, but they could be so much smoother.

Stop
