SMT II seriously suffered from this problem. I remember a whole bunch of bosses in the mid-to-end game having ridiculously inflated HP whilst not being particularly difficult to beat. I don't know how anyone could put up with the drawn out battle times without sword fusion and Divine Retribution.

Seriously. I think I've seen people claim that it trivializes/breaks the game, but that's horseshit.

>Only worth casting more than once against a boss with incredibly inflated HP due to massive diminishing returns (so basically just YHVH and maybe Satan)
And all it really does is shorten the bossfight by a quarter, which generally makes it the length that it actually should have been in the first place.

I'd much rather the final boss be served high than be one of the weakest in the game. It's the thing I've saved all of these fucking items for. It's the thing I have 52 full restore items and 200 revives for.
