The gunplay was so fucking boring. I was bored to tears with it by the time I got to Elizabeth.
I think the breaking point for me finally was the part where you have to go out on a ledge to go up to the higher part of the building. The ledge has a railing and there's no way to fall or jump from it yet Booker makes a scared breath and says whoa, okay you can do this, as if it's supposed to scare me. I felt nothing.

But I'm an avid gamer and, as you mention, it didn't bring anything new to the industry. But the characters felt really alive. Combat maybe wasn't top notch, but at least it felt satisfying.

Zone did the animation and programming for the Midna animation, all the art assets were by Buttercup Saiyan. It also explains why it's also one of his most complicated animations, Zone doesn't seem to fare well with detailed characters and animations. Most of the time he just creates literal puppets that just bounce around.
