It's above average, but play stuff like Shovel Knight and Super Meat Boy first
It's a great Metroidvania. It's short, sweet, and does a great job of giving Shantae a completely new moveset as compared to the previous games. It was my favorite game of 2014. It's the only game in a long time that I didn't mind the character's dialog.

I know what islands they're on, but I can't remember where I got the ones I do have (That'll teach me to play when I'm half-asleep at 2 in the morning). I didn't actually know there were 3 per dungeon and that you could get them all in the first run through until I got to the end.
Maybe I'll just finish the game without them and do it better the second playthrough.
