I was hype as fuck for this game. I followed the development along and pre-ordered it. I fucking loved it. The story is dumb as hell and the gameplay could have used some more polish but it was a sweet ride. I was pretty shocked to see how badly it reviewed.

You play as a thief, trying to steal pandora's box or something. After opening it monsters spew out and you get some magic thinger attached to your hand. There's some super-serious-secret protectors-of-people-from-monsters organization that you fight with to save the earth from armageddon. The opening level is in a city where you fight a demon made up of cars, buses, and the rubble of fallen buildings. The game has werewolves, harpies, griffins, minotaurs, and all kinds of other shit to fight. The werewolves are particularly cool to fight because they crawl up walls and leap around and they're tough as shit. It has boss fights with giant monsters and its made in UE3 so it'll run on any old toaster.

This game, I don't know how, but it looks absolutely gorgeous graphics while going 60 fps even on my 10 year old shit rig, with some good amount of detail, pretty neat physics engine and state of the art EXPLOSIONS.

I wouldn't called Destroy All Humans a hidden gem. Pandemic was pretty popular in the mid 2000's, everyone loved their games. Star Wars Battlefront just overshadowed all their other work in hindsight.
