I can only hope that the series is brought back to form somehow. It's a lot of fun/ Great balance of difficulty, except having to stop that getaway van with the princess on PC. Interference fire 2strong, I felt like I cheesed it the way I won.
I'm someone that only played it because they released the port all of a sudden but I had thought it looked interesting when it came out. It did well too, for not having been marketed at all. They could take advantage of this, clearly they have a significant fanbase or a good enough reputation that word-of-mouth sold the game. I know that on /v/ nearly everyone recommended it.
They could make up some new bullshit animu scenario, I don't care, just make scouts less omnipotent and encourage different tactics and strategies/new units/interesting battles. I'd settle for a spiritual successor.

I don't think it was that hard, although I did fail the first attempt.
On the second I just put 4 assaults around a corner as it passed, saved up 8 turns when it arrived and had everyone shoot it. That was really the only time I used that support fire feature. The last 4 turns were literally all 4 assaults shooting an entire clip each, and it still took all 8 turns. Not sure how else it would be done because the engine had so much hp.

If you have the Caution-Command, then you can turn pretty much any unit into a tank for interception fire. Send a shock trooper with Caution and Damage-Boost and you can end it as soon as the trooper reaches the armored car. If you have neither Damage boost nor Caution, you can still succeed, if you run behind it fast enough and have a machine gun with high anti-tank damage.
A question about those named red enemy aces. Is there a trick to when they'll doge/crouch out of enemy fire? It's a bit frustrating when there's a shock trooper at point blank range and those fuckers even dodge flamethrowers, let alone ranged attacks.
I wish the game was more about avoiding enemy fire while wiping the whole maps clean instead of rushing for the base.
Sure you can still play it like that but the balance is shifted towards rushing, also not much punishment for being careless at that.

I'm kinda amazed that the ranking system in VC1 got greenlighted (gotta go fast!). It lacks so much thought and polish compared to the rest of the game, as if it was added as an afterthought. There were so many ways to make a more balanced ranking system that takes different things into account, but instead they opted for something that endorses cheesing the map with scout rushes and/or overpowered weaponry, if you want an A.

from what i've seen, lancers are kinda shit, shocktroopers are broken and snipers are rng till you get decent upgrades. One engeener slave if welks needs to do a lot. I hardly use more than Alicia as scout, and i've read here they are broken. why so?
