FYI Anyone planning to burn a buncha DC ISOs for a comfy weekend, try to use only ReviveDC rips. They are new rips pulled straight from GD with modern precautions taken to replicate the original disc, shit that Echelon and Kalisto ignored in the early 2000s.
If you can't find a ReviveDC version DCRES releases should be passable.

CD wasn't a bad idea at the time, pushing FMV gaming and designing the thing to be fairly complicated to use its extra power was bad.
The 32X happened just because SOJ was too fucking stupid to tell SOA "hey, that mightn't be a good idea, the Saturn's about to come out." SOJ was so fucking stupid, they incorporated design elements from the Saturn for the 32X (namely the dual SH-2 CPUs; god the 32X's design is silly -- that's because you're pretty much just given a framebuffer and some fast CPUs and told to go wild and oh, you need to know how to sync multiple processors and maybe write ASM for 3 different architectures (SH2, 68k, and the z80 if you bothered with it)).
The Saturn's issue was it's completely retarded launch. Mightn't have done that well in the west either way, but the fucking early release made no sense. Killed any dev support it might have had in the grave, was $100 more than the PS1, etc, etc. Also, there was like, one good game (Panzer Dragoon) at the time.
The DC's issue was that it didn't do so hot in Japan, because it killed the Saturn early. Also, Sega was hemorrhaging money like crazy for whatever reason after 1998, even though the DC sold damn well in the US. Not amazingly, but it certainly didn't do bad for the time. Oh, and the PS2 launch was about to happen, and MUH DVDs. Oh, and piracy, I remember getting my first computer that had a CD burner in 1999, and CDs were like, $2/disc.

Blue Stinger comes to mind. Corny as fuck but pretty good for one of the first DC games. The most time I've probably invested in Shen Mue and Time Stalkers - the latter had a lot of side stories for the characters which made it somewhat interesting.

It's been a whole bunch of years, but IIRC in the ending to Zombie Revenge it was hinted that they are linked/play in the same universe. At the end Stick Breitling (I think that was that guys name) received a call where he's surprised and says something like "Now he's taken hostages on a yacht".
Which by extension would mean that Dynamite Cop plays in the same universe as HotD. Which would also mean that Die Hard Arcade (which was the prequel to Dynamite Cop) would also play in the same Universe. Which means Bruce Willis exists in the same Universe as HotD.

Time Stalkers. Yes most people seen it as shit but I found it to be quite enjoyable once you give it a real chance. Very short game with some replay value as you have many characters to choose from and they have different dialog depending on who you choose for the first run of dungeon X.
