Holy steam. Never downloaded this fast in my life. My theoretical max speed is 5.62mb/s but I usually DL stuff at 2mb~3mb, or 4mb on a really good torrent.

I'm playing M+KB too. In my opinion it's better than on a controller. My PvP winrate is probably between 80 and 90%, and I always use m+kb. I have no idea why everyone worships controllers so much in this game.

You can hide cursor. It's supposed to hide itself when you're not in the menus. Maybe you fucked something up in DSFix.ini. Maybe it's that "UI Mouse" setting in DSMFix's GUI.
Run the DSMfix gui application. Here are all my settings:
target switching: Mousewheel (inefficient, just my perference, would probably be better off with mouselook w/ modifier)
Sensitivity: MAX (trust me)
Action Modifier key: ALT
Mouse 1: Attack
Mouse1+modifier (ALT+click): Heavy attack
Mouse2: Guard
Mouse2+m: Parry
Mouse3: Target Lock
Mouse4: Roll/Dash (I sometimes use this, sometimes use spacebar)
Mouse5: unbound
After setting it up, it plays really well, almost like if the controls were designed properly on PC.
The only issue is that the turn rate isn't as snappy as in some well designed third person action games, but it's fast enough that I never feel limited by it in Dark Souls.
If you need to do a quick instant 90+ degree turn, just hit middlemouse (lock-on) which turns the camera instantly where you are facing, so long as you aren't actually locking onto anything.
Anybody have the chart where you roll for your character?

apparently people are getting better experiences by switching their download region to Finland since Dark Souls is region locked while in the beta. I haven't done it yet but some people have been having good results.

The migration thing didn't work as gflw crashes the game while trying to sign in.
Thing is I have my old save files still in NBGI/DarkSouls folder over My Documents.
I made new character in steam beta version and disabled steam cloud but I can't find where the new save files to at all in order to replace with my old ones in hoping it would work.

For the few who hadn't noticed until now, like me, DSFix is updated now. You should now be able to download the game from scratch, download and apply DSFix, and play like normal.

GFWL wasn't installed when I downloaded it, so I had to go download it myself just so the game would start and convert my saves. After that you're golden. Switch over to the beta.

I have a +6 Zweihander or whatever. I just picked up the Blacknight Sword and upgraded it to +2. It's miles better than the Zweihander, even though the RB attack is the only useful attack. Should I keep upgrading the Zweihander, or continue finding Twinkling Titanite and using the Blackknight sword??

After 4 hours of DaS1 PVP, followed by 5 hours of DaS2 PVP last night. I've come to the conclusion that DaS2 has much more enjoyable, balanced, varied, and rewarding PVP experience.

It simply comes down to SM, no full eye orb and no low lvl invading/builds.

Nope. You generally need not revisit locations more than once. Mostly, you just kill the boss, get the items and go on. There is some backtracking, of course, at times, especially in the first stages of Lordran.

What worked for me was setting the FPS limiter to 45 to decrease the strain, I guess.

If you're using dsmfix, go into dsmfix.ini and change "ui_mouse" to 0, then go into DSfix.ini and change "disableCursor" to 1. It'll disable the mouse cursor in general, even for menus, but you'll be able to control the camera like you were able to before. Just use keyboard for menus.
