I love RTS games that have scenarios where you have to hold the line against huge waves of enemies until the time runs out, like the 'Desperate Alliance' mission in Starcraft. What are some other good examples of this?
Not too keen on just tower defense, since there's much more of a limit to building and unit production.

Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War 2 and expansions.

What new RTS's are coming out with base building, that isn't Grey Goo?

That's a fun mission but it becomes trivial if you just play offensive with 2 groups of M&M

>Play aoe2 with the forgotten mod(not hd)
>play black forest against principality ai
>wall off incoming tree paths

>profit
Seriously though this can last forever if you use the trees to make farms and just have endless halberdiers, skirmishers, and hussars
AI War: Fleet Command is probably up your alley.

>30 minutes to survive
>can be beaten in half the time by getting a decent army and just attacking the spawn point for the waves
Stronghold is a game built around pretty much just defending, you build a castle and manage the economy, and defend it. Ultimate turtler's dream.

Its half the point of this game. The other half is hitting things with a wrench until they die
Men of War is full of missions like that
