• monster climbing mechanic is well done
• pawn system is well done, and it's nice to see your pawn is being rented
• class system that radically changes gameplay but all of the classes are good and viable
• skill system encourages branching out and multiclassing
• massive, powerful magic spells that make you feel like a badass wizard
• NPCs actually have schedules and personality and a ton of them even have unique quests associated with them
• TONS of hidden side quests
• post-game and DLC are both great
• cool setting
cons:
- hammy writing at times
- the freedom of NPC interactions can end up with wonky bullshit like some random quest dealer being your "soul mate"
- post game and Urdragon are pointless due to DLC
- DLC before Bitterblack was all stupid crap
- lots of cut content, game feels somewhat unfinished. it was supposed to have a dungeon tower that took you to the moon but they had to cut that and use the everfall instead which was only like 12 rooms

bitterblack is a lot easier once you realize the majority of fights are optional. Just run past things that look too powerful for you to deal with. You only need to fight a couple of choice bosses, but by the time you get that far you'll probably find a bitterblack weapon which are all overpowered as fuck
