That really is what did it for me. I had finished pretty much everything else in the game, decided to join the mage college or whatever it was even though I hadn't used magic once in the game, and within like 4 or 5 quests I'm archmage of all fucking skyrim.

It's always best to assume that when the number is off like that. There are top 3s, 5s, 10s, and even 20s, but when I see stuff like top 17 and shit, it's obviously suspicious.

I never played games akin to LoG when I was younger so I have no experience with the older ones.
Risk of Rain is a very interesting game that I haven't seen done. Really cool class concepts and the game is always fun to pick up and play.
I loved Fate/Stay's story and the music along with it made it quite the experience for me.
It's been awhile since I've played MP1 and 2 so I guess I can't answer you on that.
In general the list would be 12 games that I find are noteworthy on the PC.
Of course, playing those games would most likely lead you to other great games and VNs.

Skyrim wasn't bad. It's just hip to hate it. I never finished it because the story is boring as fuck, but I spent many hours playing it. There are a shitload of great mods for it. It also has good graphics and a lot or exploring. With mods for improved graphics and weather, it is a solid 7/10. I guess on console I could see it being pretty shitty.
