The bar for "Essential" seems to be incredibly low, which isn't to imply that I don't enjoy a good number of those games.
I think Dark Souls, Bayo, Deadly Premonition & The Witcher 2 might be the only ones i'd call essential and even Deadly Premonition is a stretch even though I love that game to death.
