About fucking time. Screw RTS, 40K wasn't meant for that. I love how much turn-based stuff we've been getting lately. Turn-based RPGs are now in vogue again, and even strategy games have been back to being strategic since ASSFAGGOTS killed the RTS and XCOM showed up and reminded the mainstream that "real-time doesn't make turn-based obsolete, and in fact it's still better, look how good this shit is".
But of course, turn-based strategy has never been dead, not for a moment. Anybody who gives a damn about strategy games and 40K and doesn't like turn-based isn't a strategy gamer and they're not much of a 40K fan either. So you have quick thinking and twitch skills. That's fine, I love my action games, but that shit ain't real strategy, it's not real 40K. Unless you're pondering turns for a minute or more and looking through menus, you're not strategizing, you're thinking fast and acting faster when it should be about thinking hard and acting with assurance.

Seriously though. I have a friend who's a huge Warhammer 40K fan. I always had an interest in it, but never had the friends, the money, or the time. He never played the tabletop game either, though he did collect and paint countless miniatures. He played the Dawn of War series exclusively, read all the novels, and played Space Marine.
There is an entire generation of Warhammer 40K fans who have never associated the series with turn-based gameplay. Also, it became obvious at some point that he was unfamiliar with Warhammer not-40K. I asked him if he had any Warhammer stuff and he said "Umm... you think?". I explained "no, I mean the original Warhammer" (at the time, I didn't realize it was also called "Warhammer Fantasy" now), and when I eventually convinced him 40K wasn't the original Warhammer, he said it was gay.

I had a weeklong game against my brother one time using 20k point armies of tyranids vs imperial guard and it was the most fun i ever had playing 40k. No way am i wasting the money required to make though armies legitimately.

>The campaign system is the same as Panzer Corps but the battles are quite different. You have a core force you customise with points to upgrade, repair, recruit etc. There are around 230 units to choose from on the Imperial side so force customisation is a huge part of the game.

Yeah, while 'modern' 40K is somewhat more serious, the majority of fluff is still the setting taking the piss out of itself. For example, the destructive Ork Warlord of Armageddon, Mag Uruk Thraka is based onMargaret Thatcher. Aside from Chess, I've never played any strategy TB games. And my RTS record consist only of Company of Heroes and Dawn of War (Which are pretty much the same game, although it's great).
This actually seems interesting and may be good since it will be a new type of game for me and perhaps something close to the tabletop which I have no intention of getting into.

You can customise the Karts with lots of guns and depending on how you paint your vehicle, it could either go faster or do more damage
