I refuse to buy games that break these rules:
no day one dlc
no pre-order bonuses/exclusives
no meddling in reviews
no DRM similar to uplay
im also against pirating (hurr durr whatever, dont make the thread about this)
because of this i dont have anything to play, what are some games you guys recommend?

I keep trying to play warframe but an error keeps coming up in the launcher- something about it not being able to connect to the internet

Honestly anon, lower your standards. When it comes to Day 1/Preorder DLC, just wait until the game gets cheap enough to buy the DLC and the game for what the game cost at release (or cheaper, I usually don't get games for about a year since I usually won't spend more than $20 on anything.) That way you've spent no additional money and the publisher loses out on first-week sales which are the most important.
UPlay really isn't that bad. I agree, I don't like more DRM than just Steam but for some games it's worth it. The minor inconvenience is worth it to play Far Cry/Blood Dragon for $10 together.

I get that but you can get it on sale in the $10 range. At that point, the DLC issues go out the window. The only remaining hurdle is UPlay and it's really not a big impact. I get the principle but you're denying yourself a good experience for...what exactly?

Well anon, I can't argue with some fucked up sense of justice or whatever. All I can say is that you're making life hard for yourself by making all these rules. You can deny them the crucial initial sales, save yourself $15-20 bucks and use that to buy the DLC they intended to be a cherry on top for a sum that comes out to the same as buying new. That should help you in justifying the day one DLC by essentially not buying it separately.
The UPlay thing I can't help with. It's not a terrible service but yeah, it's an annoying extra layer. At super low prices though, eventually it's better to cave in and consider that at least you're not bound to a console instead which, in my opinion, is a much worse form of "DRM." Plus it's usually more expensive on consoles.
