Why are all modern games so easy, /v/?
>>
Most old games were easy too.
>>
because of the lack of artificial difficulty caused by programming limitations
>>
>>271605538
because we have good controllers with good schemes
>>
Because you've been playing them for years and got better at them.

Also loads of old games were modeled off of arcade games, which were designed to eat quarters by forcing you to restart as much as possible.
>>
Games now focus on accesibility and most other aspects aside of gameplay
.
making games hard deprive many people of seeing all it's content, or even playing it at all. And the industry is getting driven by the "artistic medium" fever.

There's still plenty of exceptions, though. As there also were games that met the criteria I just mentioned.
>>
the old pokemon games were even easier than the new ones. I don't think I ever changed my pokemon once when I was a kid I just steam rolled the entire game with just my starter because i hated grinding

So they sell. vidya is an industry, it employs people, why do you hate capitalism?
>>
>>271605538
Because modern gamers don't like to lose. They also don't want the game to feel like "work." They also don't want to really pay attention or deep story's or lore because they don't want to feel stupid if they miss something because they skipped optional content.
>>
>>271606756
None of those people are wrong.

Because it's near impossible for single player games to be hard. If you want a challenge, play other people
>>
Go play simulators faggot

I still do this

Fire starter only and maybe whatever you capture on your way to the next area in your party is the only way to play Pokemon
>>

wow what a piece of shit

dank
>>
>>271608341
it makes the game so easy though, if you just use the starter and no other pokemon he becomes like 20+ lvls ahead of the gym you're at. It's pretty silly also when you can solo the elite 4 with just 1 pokemon.

It's even easier in the new games because of the mixed types, as long as you learn a balanced 4 abilities no matter what you're fighting you can kill it.
>>
Because old games were short as fuck so they were difficult for artificial game length

If you know what to do, you can beat MMX 100% in 60-90 minutes without speedrun strats.

Stop playing so many games. Seriously. Pick up new hobbies, try new things! You may find something else you're interested in and when you do get around to gaming again you'll appreciate it more and not be as good so you don't have to worry about them being too easy.
>>
>>271607245
So gamers of 'olde LIKED to lose?

Stop it, NIntendo.

Gamers of old had their games meted out.

You fucked up, you wasted 25 cents, which meant another 25 cents to make up the progress you lost. They were trained to play it safe, since being stupid cost money. Nowadays, you just buy the game and have unlimited attempts at it, so there's no real punishment for being stupid, since you can just reload a save and keep going.

Sounds like something written by tumblr activist.
I bet that on very same page that person bash particular group of fair-skinned people for "having it easy".

Hypocrisy is so thick, it is palpable.

People these days don't know the joy of overcoming a challenge.
Especially not the wrapped in cotton wool tumblr/reddit/SJW crowd who only learned to bitch and moan when something looked like a problem.

Not in multiplayer.

Count modern 60$ as 240 attempts to finish game on arcade. For minimum of 8 hours of experience.

Multiplayer games like MOBAs provide more than enough challenge.
Also, there are lots of mobile games that are as challenging and frustrating as old arcade ones.

>>271605538
They aren't. Castlevania 1 and Ninja Gaiden are easy as fuck. Way easier than most new games. The only difference is that live systems were not completely pointless back then and that most games have too many checkpoints. Ninja Gaiden and Castlevania had a pretty fair checkpoint/live system too.

If we go to the really hard games like Battletoads I fail to see the appeal in this kind of difficulty. You waste tons of time on the first two levels to get to the hard third level that is a memorization and reaction task that will cost you many lives and reruns. It's solely hard because of the tedious task is gives you. If it had elaborated checkpoints like in modern games it would be easy as fuck.

Why do Nate & Rosa have different eye styles than everybody else in the series?
>>
Two part question. Are there any good doujins about Dawn and what is Dawn's name in Japanese
>>
>>271614110
'cause Sugimori got good compared to his Pulseman days and his subordinates are also good at putting their own spin on his style or just downright playing with design using his conventions.

GameFreak's artists aren't like THE BEST, but at least they know how to make girls without actual character delicious as fuck.
