Lucas has no chance of returning as DLC. Adding a character takes a load of work and I doubt they'd spend that much time to bring back a character as unimportant as Lucas is to Smash. Lucas is irrelevant, from a game only released in one country that didn't even receive the game too well, a gameplay clone, and not nearly as many people want him back as Mewtwo. Mewtwo got in only because he was the most requested character, even more than Ridley, and he's also relevant with the new movies and the Mega Evolutions. Not to mention nostalgia from people who played Gen I games. Basically, he's got everything going for him, whereas Lucas doesn't have anything.
Now, I would gladly pay however much Nintendo charged for him; I mained Lucas. But being realistic, I just can't see it happening.
A rep from Monster Hunter series would be nice since the DLC will be released around the time of MH4U western release.

There is not a single fact to back that up.
HAL has had numerous opportunities to outright say they're the same person (such as the keychain name and 25th Anniversary book recently) but they haven't done it.
The biggest argument I see for them being the same is that the level select refers to Ado as "Ado" and people take that to be a shortened version of "Adoreenu"; if I remember right, there was only room for Whispy Woods to be referred to as "Whispy". Were that the case Ado would be referred to as Adeliene in outside material.

Sakurai doesn't like to add characters from a series without a future very often in his own words. I know there are other dead series that still have reps, but those get grandfathered. Mother already had one rep.

Bringing back any past characters would be neato, but I can understand not seeing Snake return. If he did I'd prefer him in his sneaking suit from MGS1. It's even the suit he wore in the Gameboy and Gamecube MGS games. Pichu and Young Link would be best as costumes though.
As much as people seem to be polarized about her, Krystal might have a shot at being an interesting addition IF she uses her staff.
In order to promote Splatoon, or if it does well, an Inking could be possible. Sludge bombs and goopey moves that push players back might be interesting. Squid form and all that.
Dixie Kong would make for a good character to bolster the DK series, but they might go full retard and use Cranky. Dixie could even summon that autistic monkey who's name I forget for her final smash.
I was hoping for Dark Samus in Smash 4, even if she'd be the third Metroid character with Samus in her name, but that didn't work out. I'd love to see Rundas because he'd be a bruiser with ice powers, but there is pretty much no hope for Metroid or F-Zero reps at this point. Cause I'd love to see Black Shadow with some sort of weird ass teleporting powers n' shit.
