Above all else I'm impressed with how well they're trying to be stylistically similar to the other Mother games. The graphics and the music all seem to be pointing to an overall mother-esque game.
But as another anon mentioned, the first three mother games were written by Itoi, and I just don't see how this game could ever capture the charm of his dialogue. It will be a case of all style no substance.
