If anyone actually has a problem with Anita and her ilk expressing their (incredibly stupid) opinions, I think they're kind of misguided. I think games, as the product of a creative medium, are art, and always have been, and yeah, that opens them up to criticism.
The problem seems to be that critics do not want discussion. People like Anita want to criticize games and do a terrible job of it, which is fine, but when someone expresses their opinion and says "hey that's wrong", it's seen as neckbearded manchildren who are afraid of women in their vidya.
Everything is constantly clouded by these accusations of harassment. Whenever someone tries to give a criticism that doesn't fall in line with the opinions of the weird little cliquish group at the center of games criticism right now, they are branded as part of some sort of hate movement. It's misdirection, but it's hard to ignore because there ARE people doing harassing, and everyone who is uninitiated just jumps to the side of what is most easily identifiable as right (sexism and harassing is wrong, even if that's not really what the other side was talking about).
I guess my point is, yes, if someone is seriously mad that games are facing critique, they're stupid. But propping up a politically-based narrative and attacking any dissenters with misdirection and shaming isn't discussion, it's fucking propaganda.

Games are art. They have always been art. It doesn't necessarily mean they're 'high' art or 'low' art. That depends on the game and a point of view. And it doesn't mean they have to pander to the SJW worldview or any other worldview for that matter.
