I can understand wanting Wolf back. He did fight a little different, and deserves a roster slot more than Falco on those grounds alone. Falco should have returned as a Fox costume.
Mewtwo deserved to be back since his exclusion from Brawl, but we're getting him back so we're good.
As for Roy, I wouldn't mind if he was a costume for Ike, just like Lucina should have been for Marth, but a full playable? That'd be as stupid as if they actually brought Dr. Mario back as his own character.
Ice Climbers I can see people wanting back. They're veterans and they did play differently, but they never seemed all that popular, revelant, or all that good, so if they had to cut any unique character they kind of made sense.
Pichu... he's adorable to watch scurry around, but his size is too small to be a Pikachu costume. He should be an assist, though.
Lucas... should also be a separate costume for Ness. Doesn't need a roster slot.

The 6 Player Action Replay code in Melee, all as Ice Climbers ran perfectly on the GameCube on every stage except for Fountain of Dreams. And that was because of the reflection graphics present there, now double that horsepower with the Wii U. It may not be a true current gen system in terms of processing power, But god damn, it's at least slightly more powerful than PS3 and 360. Ice Climbers and 8 Player Smash isn't a problem, Sakurai even confirmed they worked perfectly on Wii U.

I played Squirtle exclusively when I played Trainer in Brawl because he was my first starter and Blastoise is a pretty coolguy.
Really, I didn't main Squirtle though, and I kinda used him as a semi-substitute for Mewtwo. I really don't care if he comes back, in fact, looking back on it, Squirtle really doesn't feel cut out for Smash as Charizard or Greninja are.
