Do extroverts enjoy video games as much as introverts do?
>>
Depends on the person of course. But overall, I think introverts are probably more predisposed to looking them.

I'm glad nobody treats me like that. That would get old real fast.
>>
>>268892667
that image made me feel OP
>>
There's a difference between introvesion and being socially retaded.

Also, i'm pretty extroverted and i fucking love dat dere vidya
>>
Yes, extroverts probably prefer co-op and multiplayer games in general.
>>
>>268892667
extroverts are the type of people that need to make a fucking twitch account & stream whatever shitty game they're playing.
they can enjoy vidya, but not nearly as much as when they have people to talk to it about consistently.
>>
>>268893508
You're right, there is a difference.

>>
>>268892667
Strictly speaking, there are games which are designed for groups to partake in. At the very least, I imagine people would prefer that stuff, but theres genuinely no reason they wouldn't like other types of games as well.

Even if someone is an extrovert, they do have times when they want to unwind by themselves or not go out.

If this is supposed to portray introversion, then it did a bad job because this is more or less like picture of an autist or an outcast who didn't learn social norms and is trying to excuse some of their behavior.
>>
>>268894094
Probably Russia. It's pretty common there for people to throw themselves against cars like that to try and drum up false insurance and lawsuit claims. The driver was not having any of that shit, so he ran that fucker over for thinking he could get away with a quick paycheck by potentially wrecking his car and forcing him to cough up money for repair bills. Why else would every driver in Russia have dash cams now?

you'd think the artist would at least portray themselves in a better light. Are they just too oblivious to see what they wrote?

I don't believe in either category, people who label themselves as introverts just call themselves that to make themselves feel better. Do you know how fustrating it is to invite someone to a party and then have your guest be totally disengaged?

Plus tumblr artists are always 100 ilbs more than they draw themselves to be.
>>
>>268894739
She's not complaining about the lack of entertainment. She's forced to talk to her because social etiquette dictates that you don't just walk away from someone because your mutual friend left.

I'm extroverted and have a lot more fun playing console games with people, even if they're meant to be single player. Otherwise, I feel restless staring at a tv for too long so I can only play for so long.
Handhelds are similar--I like playing handhelds in the company of friends, but don't really want to play with them. I just like to chill with people when I play some good vidya.

The other girl didn't show interest at all. She didn't carry a conversation. She just answered the question. That usually means the person is uninterested.

That isn't what being an introvert means. Introverted people still enjoy going out and enjoy social situations like bars/parties/clubs. The differences is that introverts need the quiet alone time to recharge while extroverts are recharged by the social environments. Both enjoy both social and alone time for the flipped reasons.
>>

That's not what an introvert is retard.
An introvert is someone that CAN make friends if they try, and CAN be social, but they choose not to often because they fucking prefer doing things by themselves, and being social is exhausting for them.
Extroverts are the opposite, where if they're alone it's fucking exhausting to them.

I hate when people can't understand who an introvert is.

I have new class at uni this year. Something that can translate as "behavioural components of success". Basically it's a guy reading a power point presentation about how you HAVE TO behave like an extrovert to be successful.
Be cheerful, smile all the time, spend time with people, don't lock yourself at your home and shit like that. For 3 hours every 2-3 weeks.

Pisses me off.

Not really, but you can always ACT like one.

I'm pretty good at acting extroverted, but it is very exhausting and it takes a lot of practice.

You have to push push push to initiate and keep control of the conversation and you also have to find hooks in what people say to keep the pace going.

I almost want to gag when I have to do the typical small talk stuff like talking about the weather or current affairs and all that, but I still do it as an ice-breaker and people generally feel more comfortable if you can at least PRETEND to empathize with them. Sometimes you'll surprise yourself and end up in an interesting conversation at least. (though if you're like me, you'll have good conversations all the time, but no real attachment there from anyone)

I remember at uni, in a group project, I ended up being the leader and guiding everyone to success on a particular hard topic, (that plays to my strengths at being able to look at things holistically). What surprised me is that everyone thought I had loads of friends. (And that explains the no attachment from others. They just assume you have loads of friends already because you're a decent person)

But usually I'm alone. I only really have one friend I don't see all that often because he lives out of town. And despite being invited to hang out by some people, I usually prefer to spend my time alone, doing my hobbies and watching the world go by. I sometimes get a little lonely, but I'm usually not that bad. I'm in my element when I'm left to tinker with something anyway.

This.
Hits close to home with me as well, but I'd least I know that I've been diagnosed with some big mental issues.

If the introvert in the comic was mentally healthy, she'd be able to hold a conversation with that girl while still having some anxiety, maybe loosen up before meeting a few more people, stay there for several hours before starting to get irritated and tired.

That's sort of not how it works when you talk about the latest episode of some show you're watching or something.

What could you possibly take if all they're giving you is like in OP's image? They drop a few names about what's going down in The Walking Dead, maybe a few plot points, say it's really cool, but then you can't even slightly pick up the conversation after that besides maybe "cool maybe I'll watch it" or something because you still have yet to watch it. The conversation has no paths from there unless you bring in an entirely different conversation starter, in which case the previous conversation doesn't even slightly matter anymore and you could barely call yourself being social at that point.
>>

if you want an introvert to engage, try smaller get-togethers with only people that they know.

source: i'm an introvert who tries fitting in at parties all the fucking time. it doesn't work.
>>
>>268899653
Well pardon me, master of conversation. Common interests are the easiest things to socialize about because it gives you something to actually converse about. If you both like something, you can both talk about that thing much easier than two people who outright have nothing in common and would have to pry to get each other to talk. Inquiring if someone's seen one of the most popular shows out there these days like his example are much better conversation starters than 99% of other things if you're going in without context. If you're introverted, the last thing you probably want to do is offend someone as the very first thing you say to them.

>>268899849
Not everyone's that fluid and it's much easier to explain why someone prefers isolation if there's already a word and a label for it.

Great

How are you supposed to be acknowledging his Walking Dead point? Pull out your phone, cut off the conversation and start streaming? How is that going to make any sort of reasonable relationship? It's not even like he said he wasn't willing to put up with the lower points, he just acknowledged them as lower points, like you are doing.

I like how people try to explain their social retardation with the "I'm an introvert leave me alone" bullshit.

I'm an extreme introvert with a professionaly diagnosed schizoid and avoidant personality and I can easily hold my conversation with anyone, even with extreme extroverts or the so-called alphas. When someone tries too hard to get into my personal space or tries to get too friendly with me I just politely ask them to back off without giving a sperged out explanation because I'm not ashamed of who I am.

I even had a brief period of being a part of the "cool kids" in high school and I lost my virginity at 17. I haven't had sex since high school and I'm 24 now, 0 fucks given Being a social retard has nothing to do with introversion, it's all about not being at peace with yourself.

That advice still doesn't work for most conversation starters even outside of hobby questionnaires. Just listening doesn't even slightly guarantee that you'll have anything at all to talk about if they even tell you about their subject

You outright said conversations are a give-and-take. His entire post was originally about how the people he tries conversing with are not giving anything he can work with or use so he brings up other topics to see if he can get them to give. The entirety of it is trying to get help on what to do if there's nothing to take.
